Having a Solo Tank means that that Tank has to be a little OP to Compensate for a lack of a Tank Teammate. This means that Blizzard had to give a lot of Buffs to the Tanks (a lot of those Buffs were Overdue anyway, such as Reinhardt’s).
BUT the Tanks aren’t being Buffed enough, since each Tank has a MASSIVE Weakness that everyone on the Enemy Team just loves to Exploit. Characters like D.Va have no Protection against Beams, Reinhardt lacks Range, Wrecking Ball lacks Damage, Junker Queen can be Cleansed, Zarya can’t handle Sustained Fire, etc.
But Tank Buster DPS are still allowed to exist? Reaper, Bastion, Symmetra, Hell even Hanzo and Mei can cause Massive Problems. And Snipers are still here, despite being able to Out-Range a Main Tank at all times, or pick off their Defenceless Supports if they Switch to a Dive Tank?
Due to the Lack of a Tank, Supports had less Protection from DPS, so the Supports all got Super Buffed, but here’s the funny thing, THEY’RE USING THEIR NEW BUFFS TO BULLY THE TANKS INSTEAD!
Being the Solo Tank, you are the only person making space, you are one Giant Screaming Idiot with a Big Weapon and an even Bigger Butt. You’re merely one Giant Target for the Enemy Team, as opposed to having 2 Giant Targets that could Mitigate each other’s Damage. All Tanks are allowed to be are Punching Bags, they have no Impact on the Game, which is why no one wants to Play Tank, which is why Queue Times are getting Bad AGAIN. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY THEY WENT TO 5V5 IN THE FIRST PLACE, BECAUSE THEY COULDN’T BALANCE THE TANKS!

That’s certainly an opinion.
If team 1 focuses entirely on the team2’s tank. The team 2 dps delete the entire team 1.
If both teams are just shooting tanks, it allows both supports to just pocket the tank which in turn makes the tank immortal. It’s a stalemate.
Now if there’s even the slightest bit of pressure on the dps of one of the teams in the latter case and the support have to juggle targets, the whole house of cards can come down.
Now take a support out in either case and the team is struggling and that much easier to delete.
If the dps are trying to kill the ebemy tank, that leaves your tank to try and assassinate the enemy supports and dps on their own while leaving the enemy tank to wreak havoc with no cc to hold them in check.
It might feel boring to just leave the tanks to duke it out with each other, but that’s a good option. Especially if one or both teams play orisa or zarya.
That way it comes down to individual skill of the support and dps to delete the other team.
It never is quite this clear cut though. Some tanks will dive, making them really easy to just whittle down in between the cooldowns.
Some tanks are too good at playing the long game and manage to dodge around corners long enough that their team has respawned and returned.
Sometimes the jq or doomfist just dives with their entire team and deletes yours over and over. At that point hero swaps might be in order.
Supports got buffed? I still remember mercy reviving 5 with her ulti. lol
I miss the second tank as well.

and now its 1 every 30 minutes yeah. Always fun when people insult you for not ressing even tho you have been ressing everytime the cooldown was over
The thing is… people want games with tanks and supports in them. But then very few wants to play that role.
Second tank was better. Now it’s a boring role to play.
Loved playing 2 tanks either solo or synergy with a friend.
The role no longer interests me.

Microsoft should revive Overwatch 1.

It’s true, they haven’t quite nailed it yet. Not sure they ever will though.
Sadly, far too many variables. But it does sound like they are doing the right thing in the next patch. Nerfing all supports.
That should mean tank plays will feel more impactful straight away

Id rather have 5 tanks and yeet it about.
But not going to happen. Best to just work with what we have.

This is very much in the realms of “I have a sandwich so no one can possibly be starving”
You find it boring and you have no interest in it. Doesn’t mean it is boring.
Playing tank can be painful, but it’s by far the more rewarding role if you can dominate lobbies. Doing that knowing you’re on the weakest role is quite fun and satisfying to some people.

5 vs 5 is not that bad when you get a proper game. But all the systems in overwatch 2 is what makes this game not fun and sometimes tedious.
The matchmaking is terrible.
- too much backfill, more than half of all games are backfill = not fun
-the skill based matchmaking does not work resulting in unbalanced matches most of the time =not fun
- You do not have any control over what map or mode you get to play , resulting in constantly getting the same maps or modes wich you might hate = not fun
-Since the game is f2p people easily can get a second or even more accounts. Resulting in more afkers, leavers and cheaters in the game since they just got to make a new account = not fun
The few times i do get an even match its pretty fun. However that seems to be rare
Honestly, I completely disagree with the “matchmaking” bit.
Firstly, backfill, you won’t get the same match making balance with that, it is just something you have to accept in quick play. The only way round it is to have it like ranked and have no one fill (which would be terrible) or cancel the game (which would be even worse)
Matchmaking isn’t the issue here. It is the attitude of the players. The game gives them no reason to stay, so if they can’t be bothered to play that match, they will leave.
Quick play maybe could have something to give people more of a reason to complete matches (XP boosts, credits, whatever), but it seems unlikely they’d do something like that.
It has always been easy to get new accounts. If anything it is harder now with phone verification (not sure if thats required on console, but it is on PC). And levelling a new account for ranked is a pain now.
The thing that makes OW2 fun is us, the thing that makes matches tedious is us.
I feel like the Overwatch team can’t balance and instead make major structural changes to compensate.
I miss 6v6, it was much more enjoyable than 5v5 but I don’t really think Blizz will bring it back.
The game was certainly more balanced, you rarely ever saw a one-sided match. The matches were genuinely more fun for me back in OW1.
The tank synergy you could have was more fun. Playing solo tank now does not interest me.

Yep. I preferred playing double tank, it just felt generally much better. Now I can’t be bothered to playing tank, I’d rather play support.
