I personally have many Issues with 6v6 Open Queue, often I am forced into a Role I don’t really want to play, or can’t. I don’t quite understand why Open Queue is the ONLY option for 6v6. Maybe to discourage people playing it, as it’s not the “intended” experience? Not sure.
It surely wouldn’t be all that hard to either add a new Role Queue for 6v6, or just switch it from Open Queue. It’s an easy fix and would allow people to play how they want to play. Begging for this!

Sadly, the reason 6v6 role queue was an issue in OW1 was because so few people wanted to play tanks, so everyone else had to wait til it found 4 matching tank players.
5v5 was picked, because that fits how the players are distributed based in roles they play.
I’ve long thought the best option for 6v6 is max 2 per role. Still open queue, forced structure, but allows players to talk and swap roles where needed.
As for you feeling forced on to a role. Hard to tell someone not to feel like that. But, ultimately, you can play what you like. If there’s a specific role you don’t want to play, don’t pick it. Your team will just have to find a way. You’re entitled to play what you enjoy as well.
