If 3rd party software starts fiddling with game files while you’re playing. It should 100% ban you and make you argue your case.

I’d imagine not many… but then that would just support what I (and many others) have always thought… cheating is as big an issue as the forums claim.

I do agree with a “ban and make you argue your case”, but if the people who are giving you your “trial” are either too lazy, or incapable of handling this process properly, equally and fairly across the board, then that policy falls flat on it’s face.

It is their game though, they can do things, and treat their players, the way they want I guess, lol. I mean, why would they care to lose a small percentage of their playerbase this way, it does not really impact their game, numbers or revenue on a big scale.

Anyways, I will now just move on with either a new account, or maybe a different game in the same genre, depending on how I feel! My days of spending money on buying collab skins or battle passes is over as well.

That’s incorrect. every single report counts as a report. Several reports in a match does not sum up as 1 report. This is verified facts straight from support.

Read the dev updates. It counts matches reported in.

Support surprisingly aren’t actual blizzard employees. Support is outsourced, hence why you get utterly meaningless responses from them.

Or to quote them directly…
“The effectiveness of a report is based on each match in which the disruptive player is reported. This means the report’s impact is the same whether just one or up to nine other players make a report.
Players are not likely to be actioned if a group of friends collectively report them unless the reported player is being disruptive across multiple matches and getting reported by different players. Asking other players in chat channels to report a specific player doesn’t help and can make a match experience worse for everyone.”

dude, take advice from me quit this game i deleted it forever today for my own good i had an account for 4 years and they suspended this account, most of the people here are kids and toxic and take full advantage of this automated suspensions system if you decided to continue playing this broken game don’t put real money in this game even if they have good skins your account is not safe you will regret this later, they are north korea control kids less than 6 years old if you got suspensions trust me this is not a good game for you, you don’t want to play with kids IT’S JUST WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY AGAIN YOUR PAID MONEY IS NOT SAFE IN THIS GAME THEY CONTROL YOUR ACCOUNT LIKE THEY OWN IT that is an advise from person spent 4 years with them

Game isn’t broken, but the advice to not spend money is solid.

They do own it. At no point have you ever “owned” Overwatch or any game that isn’t purely on physical media.

You just pay for a code to access it. Even new games on disc are just codes on a disc to access the game. They can remove that access when ever they like sadly.

yeah, that actually happened. I tried to open a ticket after one got “resolved” after only a bot responded to it, and couldn’t file one. The website just wouldn’t load properly. I made a post about it over there where she proceeded to say clearly it was reviewed and deserved after she didn’t answer my question about how to contact support if the website isn’t working, or at least what the issue might be that’s causing it. (After having to open several tickets, I believe the issue was that you can’t submit a ticket very soon after one has been closed. If I waited a day or two inbetween one ticket being “resolved” and trying to open another one, it was fine. If I did it any sooner than that, it wouldn’t load or submit the ticket.)

She said various things between obviously I am a cheater, I deserved the ban, I don’t deserve a personal 1 on 1 with blizzard (referring to me wanting a human to repond to the ticket and do their job? You know, instead of bot responses that defeat the purpose of submitting a ticket in the first place).

I told her that surely she, as tech mvp, knows that reports are automated. It’s not a secret everyone else knows except her. She went on saying how dare I talk like that to a volunteer MVP and that she was going to basically tell on me. “Luckily, your harrassment can you get banned on the forums and forum punishments can lead to account punishments too.” Like, what, threatening me? for correcting her inappropriate, rude, and wrong responses as she continued to attack me in every post? lmao.

While that’s the rudest thing I said to her, was I’m sure it’s not a secret everyone knows but her. Otherwise I was pretty straight forward and to the point about the issue. After several replies of her refusing to even attempt to answer my question and getting hung up on account punishment, I quoted in my reply the 4 times I said, “this is about how to get ahold of support, not the account punishment” and said I didn’t appreciate her berating and mocking me, which was when a mod came in and deleted everything except her first response then closed my thread.

AND IRONICALLY ENOUGH, they refused to overturn my ban, threaten to ban the account (lol) if I contact CS one more time despite the fact I don’t cheat. I straight up don’t cheat, that’s the only reason the account would’ve been immediately permabanned without the previous penalties. I don’t even play games like skyrim with mods, let alone somehow find and buy(?) cheats and use them exclusively for quickplay of all things. Which is fine, this is just one of my alt accounts that I barely use, but it’s more so the principle of the thing that they refuse to overturn or investigate a wrongful perma ban.

So something scummy is definitely going on, and the injustice just makes me happy that they have the issues they’re having. They’re just digging their own graves and that’s fine enough with me.

Maybe if they fixed their abusable system and stopped unfairly banning people? Or had a CS team that actually investigated tickets? Or manually reviewed something as serious as permabans? The automated, unreviewed, and unjust bans have been a documented and proven issue since ow1.

Not to mention my post wasn’t about the permaban, it was about contacting support. Which is why I was on the tech support forums and mentioned that exact same thing several times including what I just said above?

You can see why they’d get annoyed though. People constantly playing victim, when the information they have says otherwise.

Completely agree. It’s like they want to destroy their reputation completely and put people off their games. They’re losing many people because of this.
