(I thought this could help people realise some important things so also posted it here.)
Ok look, im going to make some things clear for you in case you really don’t know what you are doing wrong.
In quick play you can do whatever you want, pick whatever die all you want and doing silly things it’s alright as long as you have fun.
Now, when you select comp, your only goal is to achive victory. That means communicate with other 5 people to do it. Find a strat if the strat doesn’t work you got to change the strart if your comp doesn’t work you got to change the comp the picks the approach.
If you are being a … and you force 5 people to play around you in order to have a chance of winning instead of trying to fit in and cooperate with them, then you have 2 options either stay in QP or get suspended from playing ranked (in my opinion 48 hours ban for throwing is very light if you consider that you can get perma ban for saying “dogsit”).
I don’t think that playing torb on attack for example is necessary trolling, but if your profile is 98% playtime of one hero you have definitely trolled quite a lot of games.
Nope, your character is not the reason you got suspended. Your unwillingness to work with your team and you being a troll got you suspended.
Who would have thought, forcing people to play around one hero pick and not respecting them gets you banned even if you win? WoW
At the end of the day ranked is a mess and otping is just a piece of the rotten part of the apple.
-If anyone can counter what said and thinks im wrong or otherwise please reply.
-A question for otps: what if everyone was an otp? Would you like ranked to be 100% RNG on what hero otps the matchmaking will give you?
To be fair, what do you think is going to happen when someone who has only played a few characters is forced to switch to something that they’ve never played before ?
If the character is at all important to the team then that team is most likely going to lose.
Also in defense of one tricking, competitive is about creating an environment were people try their hardest to win. What’s more in line with that than playing the hero that you’re the absolute best at ?
What you mentioned is the reason why penalties for one-tricking are justified. Playing a hero you like is completely fine but being uncooperative towards your team because “i dont wanna switch”, that’s the reason why one tricks get banned.
The only exception to this is when you one-trick because you can play only that hero very well. In that case, you have to explain this to your team. Always keep communication open to solve problems within your team.
Playing the role that you’re absolute best at. You definitely can’t play only one hero in a game with such hard counters. (for example playing hammond when they are running sombra, mei, doom or playing tracer when they are running brig or goats or playing soldier vs dive - torb vs hanzo widow - doom vs pirate ship - genji vs brig moira) “I can keep going forever really”.
If that’s the case you shouldn’t be playing comp. It would be very disrespectful towards the others to play comp while your hero pool doesn’t even contain 3 to 5 heroes, except you are otping dva, a hero that can be everywhere maybe but even then you demand from others to not main or otping dva.
Yeah, that’s true. In my opinion, when using an alt-account, you should learn at least one hero of each role so you can still cooperate well. Therefore, I would support the idea to only allow players to play comp when they learned multiple heroes well.
Something that could be done is checking your playtime with a hero. Let’s say it takes 30 hours to reach lvl 24 (I don’t know the actual time so we use this as a demonstration). In order to play comp, you need at least 3 players with 10-hour playtime or 5 players with 6-hour playtime.
That way, alt-accounts, and one-tricking won’t be a problem because they can’t use the “I can only play this hero” anymore. Though it will only solve it for a short time because you tend to main one hero later on.
Although I would also consider throwing if you play comp with genji, ana, tracer or hammond with only 6h on them, yes it sounds like a good start.
(playing brig with 6 hours on her that would be ok)
Not really. The time is used to learn a hero, not to master them. 6 Hours would be more than enough to understand how the hero works and what advanced tricks you can do with the said heroes.
After that, it’s only a matter of mastering the hero and, during that time, you will be placed in a fitting rank.
I just wonder how much would you rage when you had a 500h mercy main who never touched other heroes and went genji. But hey, just learn another hero lmao.
True, but to learn one well enough that you can use them in a rank were people expect you to know the character that you play can become quite difficult.
Whether your role is tank, dps or hps everyone should know at least 2 heroes of that specific role
For example I’m healer main, I can play from Ana to Zen because each hero brings something unique/different to the team composition. Also the fact that I had to learn at least 1 off tank/ 1 main tank if my team have main healers helped me to understand more what they do.
It’s not fair for yourself and the team if you one trick play, you will never understand the roles purposes if you’re one trick player whichever role it is.
what is the point of this thread? How is your definition of “throwing” of interest to others? The game is 100% rng anyways, especially for well balanced teams.
Yeah, is great if you can only do one role (I’m a bad player, I can do tank and only tank) but at least you should be able to play a variety inside of that role. Is great to have a main, but you can’t push nails with a screwdriver. (You can push screws with a hammer if you are strong enough, though, that’s why Reinhardt is the only permissible OTP (that’s a joke, btw))
Glad I’m not the only shipper here. I also misunderstood at first.
Dont feed the troll (thus not explaining why hes post was bs). But then again, if you dont understand why hes post was so stupid and most likely troll you are most likely 1) stupid 2) troll.
