Look before I get alot of hate for what Im about to post let me just preface this by saying that I know the blizzard design team works hard. When I saw the mini trailer for Hammond a hamster, i thought it was a troll thing to throw us off. A HAMSTER??!! Really? Look I know overwatch has a cartoony style and there already is a animal in the game but this just seems ridiculous to me. I was going to comeback and play overwatch after seeing that they FINALLY made an lfg system but this stops me in my tracks all together. I know lots of games that have silly heros and make it work like Cupid from Smite but overwatch isnt like most games. All and all 2018 has been a sad year for games including E3 even though thats unrelated. Let me know your thoughts.

this is the first hero ive had a problem with
A talking scientist gorilla, guy that spits dragons and takes bow and arrow in a gun fight against robots, sniper rifle with fof settings, robot monk spreading love, time jumping woman, gamer girl in a robotic mech, self-freezing satan, turrets and teleporters built from nothing but light, invisible and teleporting maid, that’s all perfectly fine and not at all silly or unreal. But a hamster warrior, that’s where we draw the line I guess, that’s where we decide to say “alright, this is silly”
I think the Hamsters pretty cool.
It adds a more lighter side comic like hero into the game. It could be fun.

To be perfectly honest with you Spook, my initial reaction was “wait what?!” (followed by “aww that’s cute”) I did mind it at first. But when put in perspective, where every single hero in the game is silly in one way or another. Difference though is that other heroes all have that cool vibe. Each one of them is sort of a badass in their own way especially when we know the background of them, Hammon on the other hand just looks cute and that’s what stands out.
Let’s get to know the little guy before we judge him.
if you think about it it does make sense hammond = moon hamster. also why would they experiment on monkeys only when they can experiment on all sorts of animals on the moon! give blizz a chance they are trying to diversify the type of heroes we can get. i am all for it.
If you knew people would hate it, you also knew the reason and just expected people to be like, “cool… A giant deformed hamster in a mech with gatling guns, this hero is going to be SOOOOO unique?”

I think its cheap and ridiculous. Should have been saved for Disney’s spinoff of the genre.
