A new gaming mouse

I had Logitech’s all forms of corsair m65 pro , glaive . But when i bought the Zowie EC2-A i fell in love.

IN my opinion it should be illegal to play without a Zowie EC2-A

Edit : 25% off all CS-GO pro’s use the Zowie EC2-A for a reason.
7% is the next most used mouse in csgo and thats the Zowie fk2

I think it’s better to have a lot of mice at your disposal at the same time (like I did in a shop) and try one after the other. Then you can narrow down your selection to only a few ones and try them again (like in a tournament). This is how I came to the conclusion that the FK2 and G203 were the best fit for me from that given set of mice. I’m not saying that the G903 is bad but it’s definitely not for me simply because of its weigh. I find heavier mice uncomfortable.

The zowie mice have very good shapes for various hand sizes and grip styles with sturdy build and good materials. They are simple when it comes to the looks but I actually like that.

I think logitech usually gets a lot of things right when it comes to mice but the zowie shapes are generally better.

Switching mouses a lot is really bad for your aim.

Fortunately this problem is easy to solve. Don’t switch mice a lot.

Don’t forget that with any corded mouse you usually run into cord problems. Usually means always. It gets stuck under keyboard or you out something on it. It gets stuck in monitorstand or the cable itself is too heavy and pulls down stuff from the desk.
I know the weight issue. But this isn’t like any other wireless mouse. It’s almost the same as zowie corded.

Using a mouse for 1 minute is very different than on long term. Many mouses are convincing at first in terms of comfortability. On the long run it’s different.

I was so happy for this mouse that I even bought a g933 headset because it must be good.
Well it’s not bad, but very very far from the quality of the mouse.

This is why I look for soft-enough cables and use them with a mouse bungee and form a spiral like wire shape between the mouse and the bungee. This way I feel literally zero resistance from the cable.

That’s true, none of the mice were designed exactly for my hand and grip style so all of them were at least a little bit alien at first grab. However, most mice felt very bad and could be excluded immediately from the tournament. The zowie fk2 had by far the best shape for my taste but I needed a few days to get used to it because despite being lighter and smaller than most gaming mice it was still much larger and heavier than the office mice I used before. Everyone can adapt to a degree but there are limits.

how is the zowie overhyped?

logitech g403.

But keep in mind that mice with side grip in rubber, will consume with sweat and time, and once are consumed, the mouse is pretty much free trash.

Logitech g203 works for me and at £25 it’s a bargain.

To be honest I like wireless stuff but in case of gaming mice I was explicitly looking for wired mouse. I have a MacBook Pro that I often use with a wireless magic keyboard 2 and a magic touchpad 2. I love them. Have to charge them only about monthly and can place them anywhere without tangling cables.

However when the trackpad was close to my wifi router its communication skipped for half second occasionally (about every 1-3 minutes) which was extremely annoying. I know different devices use different communication methods that might solve the problem and can be faster than bluetooth but this isn’t the only issue.

My biggest problem with wireless gaming mice is that every single one of them are super-heavy at the moment and there is a much smaller set of wireless mice to choose from. This means finding a really good mouse shape (the most important thing for me) could be difficult/impossible just like filtering for less important things like mouse click feel. At this point I would have to make too many tradeoffs for next to nothing in return. If wireless gaming mice become lighter and as diverse in shapes/buttons/etc as wired ones then I’ll switch.

That mouse is among the better ones in my opinion and interestingly it has both wired and wireless versions (wired below 100g and wireless above 100g).

The shape felt a bit bulkier than regular office mice I came from and the curves on the right side weren’t as comfortable for liftoff as on some other mice but to be honest I could live with that mouse. It is probably better for those guys who like ergo and semi-ergo shapes.

Many things are consumable in a mouse but those with rubber elements outside are indeed more vulnerable to irreparable damage. Other consumables are the button switches and mouse feet.

The mouse feet wear away after a few weeks of non-stop full-time gaming and have to be replaced usually for about $5-$10 but there are cheaper solutions too (teflon tape).

The lifetime of button switches is usually a few million clicks (10-20 million in specs) but the used switches are standard in most gaming mice (omron chinese d2fc-f-7n or japanese d2f-01f family or some other brand - kail, huano, … - compatible in dimensions) and can be replaced by soldering. The buttons deteriorate over time and might become easier to press or develop double/multi clicks due to corrosion and lack of spdt switch debouncing circuits in mice even before the mentioned few million clicks.

G903 never skips and never lags

You do know that a mouse bungee eliminates all these issues a cable brings? And only keeps the benefits.
Theres no. best mouse for any situation and player. No, i mean ppl prefer a track ball sometimes and you probably don’t please these players with your choice. Yeah it can be a good recommendation but in the end everyone has to try what’s the best for them, by them selfes. I know for sure that I won’t touch any mouse with software for fps ever again. personal preferences.

Not all the issues. I hate the weight of the cable. Especially if the mouse is light(all mouse with cable)
There’s nothing a cable brings to the table vs the wireless anymore.

You don’t feel the weight of the cable if it’s properly set up in a bungee, as it’s suspended in the air.

Wireless will always have a higher latency than wired, there is no way around that. Admittedly, it’s not noticeable, but knowing that there ARE shots I’ve missed due to it, even though I don’t know which ones, is terribly annoying to people with my personality type. Not to mention knowing the latency of one will cause me to miss shots in the future.

I have probably missed more shots due to my cats deciding the mouse cable is an awesome toy, but atleast I know which ones

Yeah, I’m sure a modern wireless gaming mouse is 99.9% as a wired one, but since the bungee makes to cord “disappear” and I can train my cats, I see no reason not go for 100%.

And as a small anecdote; I work in it security, and have created proofs of concept for doing long-distance injection of keypresses and mouse-clicks for wireless HIDs :stuck_out_tongue: It’s very unlikely that someone would care to target any of you, but if you’re slightly paranoid, don’t use wireless input devices, and especially not unencrypted ones such as gaming mice

Like I said and many others before me, it’s always a personal preference which mouse fits the best.
Some ppl hate cables, some hate diyng batteries or connection loses or latency. That’s why there are products for everyone. So we’re not all stuck with the same 08\15 mouse.
Nobody needs to push his opinion over others.

My friend for example hates cables and bought a wireless headset, now he complains about battery life and the headset weight but it’s not enough for him to remove these two things in exchange for a cable. Since he truly hates cables.

The trick is to get the mouse delay so low as possible. ( you always have a mouse delay)

Ways to lower it.

Good mouse , good monitor, good computer.

People tend to underestimate that having good gear makes a difference.

logitech g402/g502
great mouses

sorry , i used all of the populair brands .

But please all of u get a zowie.

You never tried g903.
It’s just as good as wireless. You won’t ever miss a shot because of your mouse.
You’re again talking about something you never tried.
And no the bungee doesn’t help that much. I’m playing online games for like 20 year+ now. Believe me, g903 isn’t anything like before. You cannot even see the difference between cable and this even with measurement software let alone without it…

I have the headset too g933… Yeah it’s nothing like the mouse. It’s like heaven and hell. Headset has to be charged every other day. Mouse? Maybe once a week. You have 30 +hours of (playing) time with it.
Headset slows to connect, disconnects, maybe even lags, is heavy etc. G903 mouse doesn’t show any of these symptoms.
I used zowie and while it’s good it’s overhyped.

What zowie did u use ?
Ive tried the g903 aswel but its no where even close to my zowie.
