I’m really getting tired of the game now, main reason…
I am “not allowed to play my favorite character” and hero I play the most and like playing the most is Symmetra, and 90% of times when I que in an LFG then immediately kick me just because I play Symmetra. only 10% of people have a normal mind to ask if I can play any other heroes.
Yes, I always go for Symmetra as DPS in every game I start, and when I solo que I for the most time get people of all ages screaming, yelling, bad mouthing at me for picking Symmetra.
Will see how the next season starts if I will continue or give up on the game altogether or not, cause during this season when placement started I, as usual, kept getting people who either throw, never are listening to the team regarding hero picks when one asks them about it or talking about tactics to do in the fight and people who continuously run into the enemy team 100% and ignores the team then blames the team for the loss.

Weird. I think Symmetra is a lot more flexible after her rework. She definitely excels in capturing points and defending them. I can’t deny that she’s still struggling on payload maps, but his does not mean that she’s not viable (she’ll need good healers to support her). Maybe you should consider maining a second hero for these specific maps? This could also be beneficial in case you get countered by something like a Pharah or a Widow.
Sadly enough you’ll always encounter people that will throw or lose on purpose. The best thing you can do is avoid them as teammate (right click them in the social menu) and move on with your life. Reporting them for gameplay sabotage might help in some cases (like a Mei using her wall to intentionally boycott you), but this will not always work. Also, don’t forget to report toxic people for verbal abuse.
Hopefully this answer helps. Overwatch is a magnificent game and it would be a shame to see you abandon the game due to a select few people ruining your experience.
a) Use voice chat. Don’t instalock Symm, ask whether people are ok with you picking Symm and offer to swap if you get countered. Oh, and actually swap when you get countered.
b) Considering how 70% of the people are DPS one-tricks that like to insta-lock, you might still have a hard time, but that’s not due to Symm but rather due to the role.
c) Alternatively, use the LFG feature and advertise your intent of playing Symm. Might take longer to fill your party, but at least they know what they get into.
Myrion, thats not exactly Viable at this point. The vitriol against Attack Sym and Attack Torb is palpable. And it doesn’t matter in the end. LFG is only a short term solution, people leave, they move on, they dont get locked into a semi permenant entity like Cloud9. What needs to happen is Papa Kap needs to address this issue head on or push some money into Customer support to prevent wrongful bans from happening (which might take away the carte blanche certain groups seem to have in this “my way or the highway” situation) instead of trying to shovel it hand over fist into the OWL series where people can watch koreans play each other under the pretence of representing a country other than thier own

I always in team speak, and if i die 3-4 times in a row I then usually switch, depending on what map and how we are doing in the game
