Account ban because of false reports

Hello, a month ago, on April 24, my account was banned out of nowhere. I received an email stating that my ban was due to violating something, but I thought it was because of chat abuse. Later, I found out about requesting personal information and found the reason for my ban: because of cheating.

I’ve been playing this account since the beta and have spent several hundred on the game. I know that I’m pretty good at playing Widow and Soldier, and I often triggered other players in qp and comps with my flicks. However, I don’t think I deserved to be banned, as I can play the game well.

I sent 9 tickets, and my case was escalated to the review team. After a few days, one of the GMs said that they had confirmed that I had used third-party programs. This was interesting to me, because I have Windows 11 in a clean environment, with only a few applications installed on my PC, except for Razor Synapse 3 I don’t think anything else could have triggered the ban.

I continue to think that I was banned due to mass reports, and I continue to send appeal tickets asking Blizzard for evidence against me. They have warned me that if I continue sending them tickets, they will terminate my account, but I think this is unfair and won’t stop.

This has been known to trigger the anti cheat before.

So I suspect this would be what it was.

No ones ever been banned for this. “mass reports” isn’t really a thing because that isn’t how reports work. They count matches reported in, not number of reports. So if you report someone once or 100 times in a game, it only counts as 1 game reported in. Thus removing any chance of vindictive mass reporting.

I’ve been banned for upsetting a 4 stack or two.
It’s quantity over quality. The fact that I am writing forum posts and not banned after a 2 day “investigation” should be proof of that, of course blizzard chooses not to tell you what you got banned for.

Defence matrix is not real, it’s just “x reports received in x timeframe” trigger.

You’ve not been banned for that. That could have tipped your “score” over the edge into he action zone though.

X matches reported in. But yes.

Defence matrix does a load of other stuff though.

However if you’re getting reported in enough matches to be actioned. Something isn’t right one way or another.
