Right now there’s a big problem of mouse and keyboard usage on console using 3rd party applications that emulate a controller (e.g. XIM4). It gives players an unfair advantage. One of the solutions would be to make mouse and keyboard support native. This could be worked in several ways;
- You only get put in lobbies with other mouse and keyboard players on the same console
- Crossplatform, BattleNet account play. (link battle.net to psn/xblive) in order to play against xbox and PC players.
In its current state, mouse and keyboard users also have aim assist since its emulating controller usage. This is obviously unfair. Making the support native would remove this unfair aim assist advantage and level the playing field since you’ll only be playing against other players with a mouse and keyboard.
I don’t understand why Blizzard is not doing this. Games like Fortnite have implemented it and its a big success.
