Aim asisst on PC

Why is there no aim asisst on PC
I play every single FPS games with controller. Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Halo, Battle Field etc… Whether I play these games on console or PC,or with cross-play on or off, these games have aim asisst enabled. Other developers thinks it’s ok to put M&K players and controller players (with aim asisst enabled) in the same game. They even do this in their pro competitive games. Why can’t we have this option in OW2?

Some of my friends play OW2 in the Chinese server, and there are no access to Chinese server on console whatsoever. Do you guys mean that Chinese players are not worthy to play games with controller? And my PC is more powerful than my xbox. I just want to play the game with higher graphics setting and higher framerate.

Why is it so hard for a controller user to play the game on PC.

P.S.
I dont know why there are only “Technical Support” is available in the category, so be it.

Why should controller users be able to cheat vs mouse users? Aim assist should never exist.

you chose to use an objectively worse input device in an esports title. i get why you want it but why should the game assist players who chose to use in inferior input method?

Aim assist is on a console… if you play FPS games with a controller then dont complain about not having Aim assist… PC master race doesnt need aim assist, console normies do… So dont complain about not being able to use legal aimbot against PC users

There are loads of players who prefer controller. Yes the controller is less accurate when aiming, yes OW2 is a esport title. If the developers disable aim asisst in ranked playlist, it can make sense. But there are still socail playlist in OW2. What about those social players who just want to chill with their friends just like me. Not everyone plays games so sweaty. At least give us an option.

and?

this is a fair point.

unlucky. the game has a target audience and you apparently aren’t it.

id be all for it being an option for non ranked modes but they have made an effort the keep the differences to a minimum. that being said, they did change playing both sides in qp.

I have met alot of people in games from consoles up to PC and Phone… Console normies trynna cheat with mouse and keyboard on consoles to mitigate innacuracy of a gamepad, PC players like you trynna cheat with aim assist and this is just not right… Everyone knows that FPS games are not meant for gamepads… If you use only gamepad and still cant aim properly without aim assist, please consider not playing online games because that way you ruin everything for others… Also to explain why its a bad idea to even put aim assist into any gamemode… I think you know that some poor PC players are using cheats, they are pretty neat tools that allow you to do whatever… So lets say you have an aim assist in a game, a cheat creator can use that particular code that is used for that and build an aimbot from that code that is not being detected by game engine as a hack since the code is already in the game and after the hack injection, the code wont get disabled and is used as an aimbot where you can increase its response curve to be more or less aggressive, to be faster or slower and to lock particular axis on enemy… all that is done by the .dll file that is being injected into the game and unless they can build an anticheat that can prevent this thing, you wont be having aim assist… Yes, cheats can be built more complex to completely go around anything but in the end a simple update will destroys the hacks ability and then puts your account onto blacklist and then you get banned… but if they implement a code for aim assist, you will se a ton of hackers everywhere (Warzone, Apex, Fortnite) and your playerbase in FPS competitive shooter will go rapidly down thanks to that because you cant change the particular code and since everything else is done outside, you wont get banned unless recorded and reported…

Aim assist is just a pure evil for any PC gamer and even in Quick Play I take it as unfair advantage of gamepad user… that is why Overwatch had that thing “if you play on console with PC players, your aim assist gets removed but if you play with console players on console, you have aim assist back” and this was a feature for consoles only since they are significantly harder to use cheats on…

This being said, if you wanna use a gamepad in FPS shooter on PC, just dont cuz you are ruining the gaming experience for other PC players by having poor aim and just sell your PC, get a console and play it there…

Well, since the aim asisst is on console, I assume those code is already in the game even on PC. We just do not get access to it. So your “preventing cheat/hacks” does not sound valid for me. Hacks on FPS games just can not be compeletely eliminated no matter the game have aim asisst or not.

I do not want to argue whether aim asisst is aimbot. Skillful player always hit their shots, noobs always miss. Input device does not matter that much. At least my accuracy isn’t 90,100% like those aimbots. I just want to having fun with my friends while using whatever input device I am comfprtable with.

But if the game is becoming so sweaty that only targeting competitive players as nou mentioned, I guess I am turning back to my old games then.

No aim assist shouldn’t exist on PC, the moment that code is opened up and made available on the PC client it’s just another way for cheaters to gain access to an unfair advantage.

Saying skillful players always hit their shots and noobs always miss, aim assist provides such a huge advantage regardless of skill level. There’s a reason cheaters with aimbot are able to get to the top ranks even though they quite often have terrible game sense and positioning.

If you’re just having fun with friends what does it matter what your aim is like? Nah… if you want aim assist play on console otherwise if you’re only playing fun games with friends then what does it matter that your accuracy isn’t GM level?
