Alternative aim mode

In the Alternative aiming mode you can see lines/trajectory or your projectiles. It can be blue “ghost” lines or something else. Lets see how this feature works on various heroes:

Ana - current grenade usage pattern - LoS targets. Of course, if you learned the map and various places for throwing grenade (as well as angles and so on) - you can use that knowledge. But in that case you are still limited in few positions. With new aiming mode, you can throw grenade ANYWHERE, on any available map point.

Zarya - same as ana, on open maps like Hanamura or Volskaya she can send charged balls on enemy heads. Of course you CAN do it now, but you have to FIND correct angles (but it is time consuming process, unless you are genious)

Moira - She can see the bounce trajectory of her healing/damage balls, so she can use them more effectively.

Junkrat - In close range combat - he is ok. In long range or when he is behind walls and cant see enemies - he can use alt mode to send his grenades in any point he wants.

Winston - selecting landing zone more precisely.

Orisa - she can see exact location and unpacked shield orientation of her packed shield projectile.

Widowmaker - she can throw her venom mine much more accurately in any location she wants.

Sombra - not so useful, but … Volskaya/attack left side - When throwing translocator over the water, it can sometimes fail to land on solid surface, so you must repeat and do extra attempts. (unless if are not sombra main, of course)

We have similar mechanics in the game already:
Symmetra - centry/teleport setup mode.
Torbjorn - turret setup mode.
Reaper - selecting teleport destination mode.
Junkrat - ultimate mode: controling the wheel.

PS: sorry for my bad english =)

While a trajectory line would make aiming with gravity pulled projectiles easier, I think it would makte it too easy.

It would decrease the skill curve a lot to a point heroes like Junkrat or Zarya are considered cheap or noob heroes, wouldn’t it?

I dont think so.
Lets take Ana as example.
Ana main (if he wants to play as pro) have to learn grenade throw locations on each map (you can google it) and remember them. I think it is useless “trash” knowledge and that knowledge separates “pro” players and ordinary players very strongly. The only skills players have to learn is: Tactics / gamesence and mechanical aim - thats all.

Not really. Take glitched speed running as an example. In order to play as best as possible, they have to remember every step for each glitch.

In super monkey ball, they even remember at which millisecond they have to turn.

It seems like madness but this game knowledge rightfully seperates the pro speed runners from the amateur ones.

Knowing the map thoroughly allows you to perform better and pixel perfect grenade throwing enables you to use ana at her full potential but that usually is needed at the pro ranks.

The game is already easy enough with all the huge hitboxes and easy hero’s, this is the last thing the game needs

I would rather keep skill in this game and let people learn the gravity on their projectiles than treating players like children and showing them exactly where their things are going to land since that would greatly reduce the skill in this game. Those are skillshots while the examples you gave are supposed to be placed which used to include symm’s turrets but that was removed because symm’s turrets are now also skillshots.
