I have been playing Overwatch for around a year now, maybe less, maybe more.
I used to main Dva, Pharah, Sym (a little) and now I’m learning Lúcio and loving it! But when I come up against a ‘good’ Genji I want to throw my controller through the TV!! I want to change and be a better person so does anyone have any tips for dealing with a ‘good Genji’?
I kinda like my TV and can’t afford a new one so - send help! And biscuits, I love biscuits.
As Lucio? Boop him away, get up on the walls and headshot him while requesting peel.
as a genji main myself all i got is predicting stuff, in terms of where hes gonna land or what hes gonna do. stay away as much as possible to avoid as many shurikens hit with right click and also so u can aim better if he tries jumping over u or just calculate where hes gonna land. and if ur targeted get as much support from the team or try to counter with the team or something idk stay safe idk cuz what else, genji is strong cuz he can be very agressive not only having swift strike to not let u escape but also deflect and can use another swift strike after killing. cuz team wipe is genjis style of play so try to counter

Asistance from your team to create distance/get away and heal up.
“peeling” is getting someone off of you, like peeling the skin off a potato.

Sym is really good vs genji. If he dares to jump in with blade the turret needs to off him. He can’t reflect you’r beam as well and that beam can kill him rly fast once its ramped. When genji ults you, use tp and swap between tps so he can’t hit you.
Pharah is a genji counter in a way. Just don’t ult into or close to reflect.
Lucio ult can stagger nano blade after its buff. After genji ults and then dashes you can boop him and run away with speed aura. Just dont boop him before he uses his 2n dash after he ults otherwise his going to dash back on you.
I don’t know 3/3(3tanks/3supports) teams are hard for genji and if his rly that much of a problem just pick Brigitte/Moira, Lucio isn’t bad but he has a much harder time scaring the genji away. Zen & Lucio ults make genji ult useless. The thing about lucio is that a good genji with kill a lucio with nano blade before he gets to ult. Since nano blade can kill lucio in just one dash and one attack.

Pharah vs Genji is more of a skill matchup because if you can’t hit direct rockets on him he won’t be too worried by you. Genji’x best counters outside of blade are:
Briggite: bash ignores deflect
Moira: you are very hard to 1v1 for Genji
Hog: land hook and he’s usually forced to retreat (you can hold leftclick during hook to shoot before deflect)
Zarya: bubble his target, and he can’t deflect beam.
Mccree: if your team is backing you up, flashing around deflect is good enough to secure the kill
Sombra: a hacked Genji is a useless one
Ashe: coach gun is great to displace him
In blade, Briggite bash, sleep, beat/boop and amped speed, hack, bubbles all slow him down or negate it entirely.

I kind of assumed the question was tips for a Lucio, since OP said he started playing him, but maybe I was wrong 
If so, then Dva needs one little trick and she’ll never have issues with Genji again. Ready? Boost into him and blast him with rockets to bait deflect (DM once he does ofc), halt boost when you just booped him and chug him in the neck point blank. At that range his only hope is to dash out of there before your boosters comes off cooldown.
Pharah shouldn’t have to deal with a Genji that often. If he somehow gets close, conc blast to a good peek location where you can dodge his shuriken and rocket him until he tires, dies, or someone takes him off of your hands.
Sym; Not sure really, but it seems that you would need to play in a location where he can’t get to you, or hope that he either forgets about or can’t hit your turrets, while you manage to keep you needle-beam on him?
