Anyone else think Tracer feels horrible to play now?

Tracer got nerfed heavily in OW2 because of less CC and armor changes. She does 5 damage normally, and 3.5 against armor.

Although I agree she should be nerfed in some way with less CC in the game, I feel like damage is not the way to do it. If you hit a full clip of body shots, that’s 200 damage. That is if EVERY bullet hits.

I see Mercy players complain about their lack of healing quite often. If that’s the case, how do you think I feel when Tracer can be outhealed by her easily? She can hold left click on a target, and Tracer becomes useless.

So here are my proposed changes:
Pulse pistol damage increased from 5 to 6
Pulse pistol falloff range decreased from 12-20 meters to 11-20 meters
Pulse pistol damage reduction to armor increased from 30% to 50%
Recall cooldown increased from 12 seconds to 14 seconds

She’s still one of the better DPS for a reason. She can get in the backlines, pick off low hp targets and run away.

She’s really only behind Sojourn Sombra and Genji because Sojourn is grossly over powered atm, Sombra is a bit to strong and Genji is cheap effective value

That’s the thing, she CAN’T pick off the backline when the supports are spam healing each other. They took a glass cannon and removed the cannon.

True. But if you spot the enemy supports aren’t protecting each other (common in low ranks) she’s super effective as an assassin.

Same reason why Reaper seems really good low down. If you’re not playing as a unit, you can be taken out easily.

The difference between Reaper and Tracer is that Reaper can deal a lot more burst damage. I have about 130 hours on both characters, and Reaper is a lot more effective at taking out the backline. Also, in diamond - masters people are actually paying attention to the backline.

Tracer is fine. Symmetra is off much worse with the short range beam and nerfed turrets in this kind of fast paced speed/range emphasizing shooter setting now.

Symmetra is a whole different character, why are you even bringing her up?

Do not disagree. Reaper is solid atm. There are better picks, like Sojourn (because she’s massively overturned right now). But he’s very effective.

Moira is a low tier option for support though, but she can be effective if the enemy is uncoordinated (like the reaper guy)

Because you have to see all characters in relation to each other. For example if all get weaker then noone actually gets weaker in effect.

I agree that Symmetra may be underpowered, but this post is about Tracer. You can’t use “Symmetra is worse” as an argument.

Taking out supports in the backline is an opportunity not a guarantee. Supports have to deal with a lot from all different angles so if you pop up behind them and they both have the awareness and mindset to work together to make you ineffective then thats too bad, you are in a 2v1 against survival focused characters why on earth would you win that?

Also chances are while they are focusing on each other someone else is in trouble up front and not getting heals so its hardly ineffective even if you don’t secure a kill on them.

The problem is the limited amount of time you have to kill a support. Tracer is fragile, and has high mobility to compensate. She’s also supposed to have high damage so she can go in & out, and hopefully not get oneshot by the supports.

She does have good damage though I have appauling aim but have managed to absolutely shred people as Tracer. Flanking characters are opportunists and not guaranteed support killers, but because of her high mobility she can popup at times when supports are not able to react quick enough and have a high chance of securing the kill.
