Avoid limit is dumb

Why is the avoid as teammate list only 3? I am so done with either Doomfist onetricks and dps moiras. I’ve had about 15+ of them and I just can’t avoid more than 3.

3 is fine. You don’t need people in there for long.

Unless you want to avoid rscists or other unsavory sorts that you’re tired of dealing with while waiting for the bans to hit.

The game would die if they gave unlimited avoidance. Just report the people and hope for the best if they’re being toxic.

That is why you turn most chat off. The AI will start picking it up in both text and voice in time.

The thing is, playing an useless hero or playing a support hero as a dps is not bannable…

I don’t care about toxic people, because most of the time they can actually do something. But the dps moiras and other just plain bad teammates can do nothing for the team. I’m trying to climb back to diamond and I get placed with golds etc. who have almost no gamesense or skill.

I can see both sides tbh, I’ve certainly come across scenarios where I would love to avoid more than 3 people but on the flipside I can see it spinning dramatically out of control if the list was unlimited. Maybe upping it to 5 would be nice.

Eye of the beholder. Or prejudice. The game (well, if you include OW1 ofcourse) is 6 years old. Bronze games are not what they used to be, let alone gold. Gold players might have less mechanic abilities and reflexes than higher ranks, but gamesense is certainly not as worse as you might think. You come across brainless players in every rank, of course.

If people get into gold and they can maintain their rank in gold? They have gamesense, period. Especially now with the higher focus on individual performance in the ranking system.

Most of the time, at least in my experience, these kind of people lose the game faster than anyone else, because they either get so focused on what other players are doing wrong that they can’t play, or they turn the entire game into a dung-slinging flamefest so that no one else can play. These are the kind of people who give up and type “gg” after the first team fight is lost, and then you know the entire match is going to be an uphill battle.

To the topic at hand: I wouldn’t mind some extra slots, but as mentioned, too many is going to have an effect on matchmaking, especially in higher ranks (or lower) where the pool of available players is smaller. And as mentioned, I tend to remove people in my avoid list when they are in there for a few hours, as the chances of encountering them again have become very slim.

Once again my point is ignored. I just want to avoid more than 3 of the brainless dps moiras etc.

Toxic players while being annoying, can be muted. There is not limit to muting players.

In the last paragraph I give my two cents about the topic. Adding a few slots, okay. Limitless, no.

Toxic players have a lot of impact on the games. I don’t avoid toxic players because they somehow hurt my feelings - spoiler alert, they don’t - I avoid them because they make their team lose the game.

No. More than 3 avoids would cause huge issues with queues.

You can however have unlimited avoids if you just stop playing. Saves you getting upset about Moira players doing their job.

Its kinda funny how people don’t see the irony sometimes, they are being so toxic but sometimes they are the biggest point of failure on the team. Its not unreasonable to not want to waste anymore time on them.

Because Blizzard is too incompetent to give any better solution.

You suggest one that is actually an improvement without additional pressure on queues and match making then?

there will be frustrating elements in every game that will always exist, the question is more about wether you can stand it or not.
that’s usually how people find their games, not by how fun they are but how less of a pain it is to play due to the frustrating aspects of the game.

bad things will always ruin good things if you let it.

I guess our preferences are different since i don’t play comp. To me the most important thing is to have an enjoyable game. People who hang around only to throw around slurs and troll are the staple of my avoid list.
In the old ow we had 7 slots i think, so five wouldn’t be that big of an issue (at least outside of comp)
And i’ve been called a dps moira too. Don’t know why since i had only a few thousand damage and 10k healing XD

“Doing their job” pretty sure the supports job is to SUPPORT the team and not deal damage…

Upping the avoid limit to 5 or 10 would be such a benefit for people who want to rank up without the inevitable throwers etc.

Thats the funny thing about Moira though, the amount of healing she can output is directly linked to her damage. In fact I’d love to see some of the better Moira players just refuse to do damage for a while, their healing numbers would probably drop as well and once again they will get moaned at.

Genuinely can’t win as a support sometimes.

kinda weird of blizz to give supports ways of dealing damage then, and all of them get an accelerated ult charge if they do incorporate that part of their kit.

don’t that go for literally any role?

Probably, but at least other roles can just blame the healers when the game doesn’t go their way.
