Hello. Dear game developers, why is the balance of teams in your game so bad in terms of skill? It seems like the matchmaking in quick play does not take into account how well the players can play. I very often come across matches where one team is too strong and humiliates the other team. Why? Why is that? Where is the balance? I come to this game every morning before work and every evening after work to enjoy my favorite game and relax, but instead I get pure pain and suffering because my team has DAMAGE players who do not know how to play at all, and the enemy team has DAMAGE players who make 40 kills without dying even once. Where is the balance, I ask you? Why does this game torment me and hurt me?! And I do not like the opposite situation at all, when my team is too strong compared to the enemy team. It is not fun. It is sad. There were much fewer such matches during the first Overwatch. I want normal matches, so that everyone tries, so that everyone knows how to play, so that everyone tries to win! So that it is interesting to play! Interesting to play, and not painful! Here are the replay codes for todayās two matches that I played this morning. Do you think this is normal?
This very smells like the classic issue of mistaking performance for skill.
The game will be balanced on MMR. So, at the game level there will be no issues.
Now, could a player have thrown loads to get a lower MMR and then come dominate a lobby⦠Sure. Doesnāt happen that often but it can happen. Could that player just have popped off and played against people having a bit of a wiffer and making lots of mistakes. Yes, that happens quite often.
By ādo you think this is normal?ā I meant is it normal for such catastrophically disgusting matches to happen? This is a terrible gaming experience! Disgusting! After matches like this, I donāt want to play. I want to go into the forest and punch rocks because I am overwhelmed with negative feelings from the awareness of injustice. I have seen other messages on the forum from players with similar complaints. And the developers still have not fixed the balance issue. How do I communicate this information to them so that they will see it and do something? Do I have to go to their office and show them a replay on a tablet? I want justice. I want to be heard.
Sometimes I agree (maybe not quite as angrily) but it is no different to any game thatās reliant on matching with total strangers.
It is a common complaint. But Iām not sure what they can do. Theyāve studied hundreds of āsteam rollā games to see if there was any system issues. They found that it was pretty much never the case.
So, how do you make players position better, use abilities smarter, coordinate better and so on⦠Itās a problem I donāt think any game can solve without taking away agency from players and forcing them to position in specific places, take predesignated routes and only use abilities when they are told. But that sounds like an awful game to play.
I think I said this in another post, matchmaking is the biggest grievence players have with this game.
BUT, you know what I realized. I need to warm up to get where the game last classified me in. You cant have like a button, āgive me easy enemies so I can warm upā, thats on you, me, all of us. I like arcade for that, nothing to lose, nothing to gain. If that helps.
Dude, I donāt mean competitive play, I mean āquick playā mode. When I come home in the evening after a hard day at work to relax with friends in my favorite game, I find myself in HELL!!! The enemy team consists of very angry people who really want to win in āquick playā. My friends and I came to play without stress and difficulty, but the enemy team came to humiliate us. This is just awful! It shouldnāt be like this! I understand that I have an extremely high hidden rank. I took the master rank playing Mercy alone. Without a team. But this does not mean that I can play DAMAGE class characters just as well. But when I take the DAMAGE role, the game selects an asymmetrical team for us. Iām tired of putting up with this. Why should I suffer from my favorite game? How can I get through to the developers? They donāt read the forum!!!
Ok, but they are sometimes really unskilled players matched in high lobbies⦠Like we are tailking about failing at basic character combos or failing at basic character mechanics. People should atlest be consistant at them. Like sometimes id die and check how someone plays and it becomes painfully obvise that they are just miss matched, they also usually have mid skins. And this is most obvise on tanks, since about 80% of tanks work with static combos that if you Hit ability X you are freely allowed to do Y and Z no matter what cuz your target is into CC.
I swear ive seen hogs who cant land an attack when they hook, or balls who cant shoot a shot once they knok up someone or the fact that they dont even try to lach knok back into knok up into attacks, or sigmas who cant shoot at someone who they landed a boulder on etc⦠Then you have supports who go over DPS mode while they should be prehealing and stuff and dps who end the game on 2 elims. There shouldnāt be an excuse for such stuff in 2025 and the MMR system should heavily downgrade such stuff.
But theyāve explained sometimes in the high high lobbies they loosen the acceptable range otherwise players at the highest ranks could be waiting hours.
As a community we need to accept that bad games happen, and we shouldnāt judge someone off one performance. Performance does not equal skill.
And, if that is their skill level, theyāll be āthrowingā a lot of games. Yud hope theyād get banned, but at least their MMR will be tanking and they wonāt be in high lobbies for very long.
If they are still in high lobbies, thatās proof that performance isnāt and indicator for skill, or lack there of.
I do this a lot, always forget to reload (less so now, I wonāt touch Hog. Not a tank in my books)
There is noting to excuse, the are just mismatched, they should be at a whole diferent MMR. Im not blaming them for being bad, im blaming blizzard for having an outdaterd MMR system, Every game is stump or get stumped depending souly on matchmaking excluding the few mods blizzard have statically made it impossible to get stumped by longer timers to atifically make it seem like the game is somewhat back and foward.
The MMR system should 100% facture your player stats like accuracy and times youve hit your abilites/combos and elims. And if you arent preforming well and arent swapping to something less skill demanding set players MMR should take a huge hit.
This is a conspiracy, but blizzard 100% have something in place where new accounts get matched with good players. Ive expirianced this a ton on my smurfs. Like on my smurf, 15 games in and im already matched with low GM players.

If youāre winning a load of games early on, your MMR will have quickly risen, plus early on youāre locked into open queue. Open queue has very few players in comparison to role queue + open queue doesnāt separate stacks, wide and narrow queue players. They are just limped together.
dude, my Mercyās sometimes dont know that you can press space to fly up at the end of their sift move, the matchmaking is honestly emberassing at times. I dont understand your shilling.
This vid is pointless, i can climb, this doesnt make match making less stupid. I can start on a fresh account and end up in GM in 2 days or 50 games⦠This doesnt fix any of the issues in the game lolā¦

My exp on a fresh account is drastically different then my exp on my main account.
Blizzard 100% do something for fresh accounts to get them hooked, theyd be stupid not to.
Thats the thing, anyone can play 10 games on mercy or some other 0 iq char and get insane MMR, this shouldnāt be the case⦠Actual preformance should be a factor in MMR.
When i say āstatsā I dont just mean elims ( a pointless stat (alto its absolutly emberassing to have 2 elims on a dps when the rest of your team is at like 15-20, this means that they arent even contreburing 1 dps towards a kill)) I mean accuracy, stuff like solo kills, abilites hit, critical accuracy, for heros like junkrat elims done with 1 sec within hitting an auto (his combo) etc. these are the stats that win games even stuff like mercy resses, objective contesting etc. MMR should factor everything when giving you a number or taking it. It shouldnāt be a brainless system that goes like ādurrr 1 win +500 MRR 2 row win +600 MMR 1 lose -200 MRR durrā
Yeah this is my last few months situations now. Log in, have a history of 6 losses - 1 win - 9 losses -1 win - 5 losses and so on
And it isnāt even tough ones - itās just stomps, where enemy team is just better then me in everything and Iām not at their lvl. I canāt leave spawn to try new heroes, they face no resistance and get boredwith 40/1 > no fun for anyone
This is what people call shilling, many reported cases on new accounts having better matchups. You dont have backroot access to the gate, yet you say forsure that they dont have stuff like ednagement optimizastion or are giving new account MMR boosts so they match up with better people on a hier avrage.
Thatās called correcting someone, or explaining whatās happening.

What might feel like a better match up, logically canāt be. As itās purely matching on MMR. There isnāt special match making for new accounts.
The likely good is that new account has a lower MMR, thus getting slightly easier matches. Which feels ābetterā.
Or, theyāve won far more leveling it up and got a slightly higher MMR. Got a higher rank and think thatās the rank they deserve. So that āfeels betterā.
Mhm, low GM playesr with 53% win rate on their main, make a new account and win 48 out 50 of their games or go 98% win rate non stop, going way past their main account rank in 2-3 days. This is why people smurf in general, even the ābigā streamers.
High MMR on main. Naturally get about 50% win rate.
New account, obviously starts with lower MMR, so theyāll be playing less skilled players, easier to win. Winning breeds winning. Momentum theyāll quite possibly go beyond their main whilst on a run list that.
MMR isnāt some fixed expression of skill, itās just wins and losses after all. So another account having higher or lower MMR than the āmainā isnāt some sign of something.
You could in theory start 100 accounts. Play 100 ranked games on each, 1 tricking the same hero and have 100 different results. ((If someone did that, the last account should be far higher than the first. If you 1 trick a hero for 10,000 games and donāt improve somethingās wrong with you). It purely judges skill on you ability to beat whoās put in front of you. In those 10,000 games youāll never play the same combination of 5 players twice, plus your hopefully increasing mechanical proficiency on that hero.
So yeah, in short this who āgot new account rank different so everything badā theory⦠Complete rubbish.
