First of all we don’t know how the automated system works and second of all 100 players reporting you is nothing. Max amount of reports you can get is 11/game which is more than 1/10 of 100.
Second you don’t know if I got reported for even being toxic. Maybe I’m famous and get spam reported every day. Should that give me special treatment? Why?
Third of all the players should not have the last say in someone getting banned. The average player is a stupid sheep and more often that not do not know what’s better for the game.

Aside from the fact that reports decay over time, if you get banned within 10 matches, your behaviour is really messed up.
That is an interesting question. The penalty happen automatically but what if you appeal to get your penalty lifted? If the GM sees that 90% of the reports are fake, how are they going to deal with the penalty?
They don’t. Blizzard gives the last verdict. All you need to do is an appeal and a GM will investigate the reports. Their opinion matters in the end and, in order to save time, they will give the typical “it broke the CoC” response.
Also, you actually contradicted yourself right now because you called the average player a “stupid sheep”, which was a completely unnecessary insult. 1 out of 12 replies by you contained an insult which might rub someone the wrong way and result in a report.
You are right, for blizzard, it actually doesn’t. I think that Blizzard has a certain philosophy regarding behaviour:
Rudeness shouldn’t be tolerated because every rude comment can be said in a polite or respectful manner.
This conclusion came from a discussion on wether or not a penalty for saying “you are useless”, a rude but true comment, is justified or not. There were many arguments for and against that, each of them having contradictions or being moot points. Currently, this one is the only argument (for a penalty) that stayed rock solid.
Why is it relevant to your argument? Because what you claim that matters doesn’t in my argument.
The context of a rude comment can be said in a polite or respectful manner, too.
So if context doesn’t matter because you can tell the same context in a polite way, all they need to do is look at the phrasing and check wether it is rude or polite.
Telling someone to fork off is not polite at all. If we change it to “Could you please stop it?”, would you still think that something like this will most likely happen?
Do you also have proof that someones appeal to lift the penalty for chat abuse got denied, even though they were polite the whole time?
It is important that exactly this can be proven because it is already established that you only need enough reports to be banned, no matter wether they were false or not.
I remember in the past, I would get angry if people weren’t in vc. I believe one of the last games I had back then, the last thing I said in vc to a team that was all not in vc was “why do you people even play comp? Just play QP, it’s the same thing minus the comms”.
But today I play comp without joining vc all the time. I’ve changed a bit. I know not everyone enjoys being in vc. Not everyone is comfortable talking to complete strangers. A lot of people have social anxieties they are working through and so on. So I’m not one to judge and I never get upset over this any more. If nobody is in vc, fine, I just play it like it’s a game of QP, but with more on the line.
The lesson here is to not get angry and waste energy over things you have no control over.
I don’t want to prove my claim, that would put me into a very long process of file searching and email recalling from 5 months ago. I would also gain nothing from it.
What happened to innocent until proven guilty, oh wait this is dictatorship/fascism, sorry forgot that. It is funny how some people defends fascism in these forums too. They should relocate to North Korea or something, they can bootlick the fatty there.
Actually, It is a simple, automated system that works with the “innocent until proven otherwise” system. You get penalized automatically but that is a cheap trick to save Blizzard some resources. The appeal is where it gets real. The GM checks wether the reports are valid or not. This means that they have the mindset that the penalized player is innocent until they found evidence that prove the contrary like, in this case, 3 Lines as an example for your behavior.
It always depends on where you put the focus on. If you look at the penalty system, it’s a “guilty by popular demand” system: If enough players report you, you will be penalized. If you look at the appeal, it’s a “innocent till proven guilty” system because the GM is looking for evidence to prove you guilty.
The CS system is 100% for show. When I asked them what I had done they told me they couldn’t show me for “security reasons”. I got 100% banned because I reached a set number of reports and the GM’s are not helpful at all.
