Banned for what u say

like the title says , a friend of mine just got banned for saying EZ after a game which it was, like they never even touched the point.
But to be fair my friend does this after most matches,

But i think the truth hurts. in my opinion only threats of fiscal nature should be bannable or hacking, Not number of reports because this game invited alot of SJW and snowflakes who will report you for nothing cuz there little feelings got hurt.

But most reports come from a sore loser, they would actually only report when they lose and a enemy rubs it in, when they win and a teammate does it i bet 99% doesn’t even bat a eye.

No mater how toxic u are or what u say about my mum or wishing me a illness, i wont report u because i have a mute and avoid player button. only when u say stuff like i will come to your home an kill u , then u crossed the line.

Blizz needs to remove the system that allows for the banning of people just by number of reports .

Normally the ‘sore loser’ is the one screaming ‘EZ’ in chat. It may have been easy, and it shouldn’t be bannable. But don’t be suprised about it. He didn’t need to say that, and tbh people who do are normally quite toxic anyway so maybe it’s done the community a favour.

I agree, I wouldn’t report anyone for it. But don’t be suprised when others do. There’s no need to say ‘EZ’ after a game, you say ‘gg’ and move on.

still, should it be bannable ? And sometimes people even report u for saying GG.

An improvement of the report system would be always beneficial but this topic has been discussed a lot already.

All I can say is that such a report is justified because it is against Blizzards code of conduct (no rude or vulgar language that could be considered offensive to others).

I’m not saying that you should report anyone that says EZ. I’m just explaining why such behaviour is reportable in general.

Call it BS but sadly, the truth hurts.

Can’t think of a fairer/more practical system than a numbers game of being judged by your peers.

It atleast shouldn’t have a 7 day ban. However, people can find that language quite toxic. If I just lost a game of Comp, and the enemy team starts saying ‘EZ’ I wouldn’t be too happy either. No I wouldn’t report them, but there’s just no need. What did he gain when saying such a thing? Nothing.

Blizzard wouldn’t ban anyone reported for saying GG, so they obviously saw your friend’s language to be going against their code of conduct. They don’t just ban everyone reported.

Anyway, it’s not a perm ban so it’s not that serious. But I wouldn’t say the guy was a sore loser, it just shows a lack of respect from your friend’s end.

what if, you say GG and u mean it (good game) but some one took it offensively and report you for it. This is what the system is ( i dont like u, you need to go).

We have people from all over the world with diffrent values in life and what triggers them and what dont.

all blizz needs to do is says this is bannable and this isnt , if he hurt your feelings by winning and saying something afterwards then mute him.

This game has a profanity filter for crying out loud , if you dont like foul language keep it on for ****.

…like I said, a numbers game of being judged by your peers is the best way practically possible. Getting banned for one ‘event’ is very rare so the general rule of thumb is try and be positive and a ‘team player’ and you are unlikely to suffer punishments.

Actually they are still right if you think about the maturity in each rank.

More skilled players usually are more mature than low skilled ones, especially in a game for 12 year olds.

Mature people can shrug away taunts or even little insults but immature people can snap when you say gg as the winner.

If it offends the other player, you broke the code of conduct and thus your behaviour is reportable.

Also… how childish does your friend have to be to say EZ almost any time?

I don’t understand rude behaviour in video games, it’s just a game after all

It’s a game which can be played by 12 year olds so nothing wrong with not swearing at fellow gamers. Getting angry/shouting expletives just shows a lack of maturity and class in my opinion. Luckily it’s the minority of games you have people who deserve reporting (at least in my games).

i am 25 now , ive been on and off professional gaming, but when this game came out it stole my heart, but after a year it invited a lot of non gamers. and they demanded to change the rules in there favor. cuz this is what these kind of people do they cant win they change the rules ( going all political now ) cuz it is in the end a political struggle and blizz allowed them to put there political ideals into this game .

this is a competitive game in the end…in any other sport they poop talk each other.

but in any other game people wont get banned for what they say.

But here at oversensative they do.

The rules were never changed. The code of conduct already existed long before Overwatch.

Trash talking might be part of any sports but Blizzard already showed in the code of conduct long ago that they don’t tolerate bad behaviour.

Read the code of conduct by yourself and you see why such behaviour is technically reportable.

It doesn’t matter that you are 25 or a pro gamer. Bad behaviour is bad behaviour and if it offends people, it breaks the code of conduct the existed before the actual game.

Stop throwing fancy words like SJW, political ideals etc. and get back to reality: you just never knew that your (or your friends) behaviour can be offensive to others.

And don’t you dare to argue with “trash talking happens in other games, too, so trash talking is normal” because lynching was normal, too…
Besides, trash talking in sports is used to provoke the opponent, to play mind games with them. Here, in overwatch, people just want to vent out their frustration in an immature way. Trash talking just is something Blizzard doesn’t want because it’s against their code of conduct.

This is why the reports against your friend was justified. I personally wouldn’t report him but some people found that offensive and he got punished for his rude and unnecessary behavior.

Thats why u have a profanity filter. Ive been 12 too and been trash talked a lot for my age when 15 joining my first pro team and people would use my age to trash talk me it didn’t hurt me., it helped me get better.

it really annoyes me how this generation is triggered by the truth.
I pity u , and ur state of mind.

When ur hurt over the smallest insult.

But you are not everyone. People get offended, that’s the truth. It’s up to them wether they ignore it or take action against that.

Also while you pity sensitive people, I have some malicious joy when people just can’t shut up. It’s so funny to hear desperate players who trash talk like their lifes depend on it. Have you ever heard a teammate breaking their keyboard? Hilarious

So how about you end the journey of finding an excuse for your rude behaviour and just drop that trash talking?
If you can’t do that then maybe you should work on your maturity.

Is a friendly environment so much to ask for?

Just don’t be rude and everything’s ok.

So you’re basically saying that because of the human nature we should allow trash talking into the game mmh ?
You don’t see the problem with your friend rubbing your victory over the faces of the other team mmh ?

Now that’s where the problem is imo

Yes it actually is , we did this for years , and no it made no one weaker. Its ur kind that want to make us weak.

What would u rather have … some one saying after every game u played good and be stuck at what ever u do , Or some one that tells you u are garbage . which will help u more.

So basically, it’s very inhuman to be polite…

Is it so hard to shut your mouth? Why do you defend trash talking?

Because it’s normal? Lynching was normal too…
Because we’re only human? Great reason for killing someone…

Why are you defending trash talking so much?

Also the reason for trash talking in other sports is not equal to that of trash talking in Overwatch. One is about mind games, the other about venting and ranting.

I love how you say “your kind” like I’m not human :joy:

I’m not aiming to make anyone weak, I just find it funny that you’re basically whining because others are whining

Now let’s just be real for a minute. Just because you had some kind of behavior for a long time with your friends does not make it valid. That guy who reported your friend may have tried his best, you don’t know about that. And your friend just straight up mocked him, which can be considered rude and disrespectful.

I would rather have none of what you said to be honest. Someone telling me that I’m garbage is not going to make me better no matter what you say. Constructive criticism is. And saying “ez” at the end of a game is not what one would call constructive criticism.

You are starting to sound like an elitist but I won’t get personal any further.

How exactly is “being polite” your “downfall”?

It seems a bit over exaggerated.

And again trash talking in overwatch is for another reason than for other sports.

You assume a lot of things, it’s really funny :joy:

Next you’re going to tell us we’re not man enough right ?:thinking:
