Bastion is cheese and bad hero design. He is a worse version of soldier. He is only good when ur whole team plays around him like orisa bastion pirate ship.
No one plays bastion, only when you try to cheese. His whole kit is only about his SHIFT/Siege mode. Playing bastion cheese on payload map is low risk/high reward. In other games cheese tactics are high risk/high reward, so the bastion tactic feels even more cheap. You can be in OWL and still lose a teamfight or a whole game because of a cheap pirate ship tactic. If the bastion cheese doesnt work you simply switch heroes and the enemies got a bit of ult charge while in other games (for example sc2)you lose the game immedietly. We all know that pirate ship etc. is not invincible but it is a cheap low risk/high reward tactic and I dont want something this disgusting in my overwatch experience. Am I really the only one hating this strat? Am I really the only one lost to that strat? I have a dream that bastion gets a rework where he is a viable pick not just only for cheese.
Actually, Bastion is not “pure cheese”, I have seen it first hand. A good Bastion can be an astonishing flanker, by sneaking behind the enemy and deal a lot of damage, while the enemy team is occupied with Bastion’s team.
Furthermore, Bastion’s ultimate charge, while in recon mode, is literally the greatest one in game. From practise grounds, I’ve noticed it takes very little shots to get full charge.
maybe in quickplay. No one is playing bastion,because he is just a bad pick. good flanker bastion… dude why you troll.
Have to disagree, if i play comp and u have a enemy bastion flanking us and succeeding you would have 6 people smashing that uninstall button and continue there lifes as farmers
I laughed about your comment^^ but he is really no flanker. I mean yeah you also flank with rein, but overall both are no flanker it is too risky and too much time waste.

It was in quickplay, nonetheless, if Bastion was useless, then he wouldn’t be good in quickplay. Therefore, the title is incorrect.
in comp flanking with him could even be bannable since ur feeding… ( joke )
But no he is more for a fortify meta.

Bastion can be a huge advantage in very simple face-to-face fights because of the huge damage output. The team that has bastion will break down the enemy shields more quickly and then the enemies themselves.
However if the enemy has good flankers (like genji, tracer, …) which makes gameplay more complicated than the simple face-to-face scenario then the situation is different. This is especially true at higher ranks where players (flankers) have better timing and more aggressive playstyle. There the mobility problems of bastion become even more pronounced. The front shields might be distracted by flankers and bastion could get damage from non-flanker heros too, and so on…
Have you ever got destroyed as bastion? Just think from the perspective of bastion, what do you hate most when you play him? Heros that deal burst damage and approach your from outside of your FOV. This can be the case not only with flankers but also when the enemy defends by surrounding a road or area from the high ground.
However, I’d agree that bastion is easy to handle and in silver (2000SR) works very well most of the time.
A death+respawn can be also be very costly in higher ranks. Around 2000SR, no problem, so trying the bastion cheese is more acceptable.
Bastion is in my opinion still a cheap cheese strategy. When you know you have no chance to beat the enemy team you try bastion comp and you can win. One mistake from the enemies and you drive by them and get the first point. faster is impossible because you sit on the payload most of the time.
Just counter him with Roadhog and/or Mei.
Trying bastion is the same as trying any other hero. If the enemy team can’t play any heros that can counter bastion easily then they deserve to lose. It’s the same as being unable to counter widow, mcree, pharah, or anything else.
Bastion isn’t that strong against the right players but its one of the easiest to play as a beginner - just like some other heros (e.g.: reaper).
