Hi. I’m new to this specific fps game so having this thread opened with something that happened today makes me nervous and scared since I paid for this game lots of money and actually enjoyed it until then.
Today, my friends and I played like we normally do and someone from the enemy team accused me for ‘’ aimbotting ‘’.
They also insulted us with namecalling and other insults.
They threatened me that they will: ‘‘inform the blizzard forum since your other account has been banned for hacking’’ and that ‘’ I shouldn’t act like I do not know what I am doing’’. This felt like a bad scam letter but made me nervous and anxious regardless since I am a very anxious person.
I hope I can state that I am extremely disappointed, mostly that I do not know what to do other than report them and stating my concerns.
The same as playing with guys who know nothing and understand even less about the game; you get reported and suspended at some point.

I’m still new to the report system but if that works, then I’m thankful.
Yes, reports accummulate over time and the penalties are handled by a machine.
So, yeah, false reports will get you suspended too.

I see. That’s really worrisome regardless. I hope Blizzard looks into my case because i personally would find it unfair if I get banned for this scammer-looking accusation.

Blizzard staff wont lift a finger unless you’re a pro or a very well known and liked streamer
If you get suspended through a false report there is litterally nothing you can do…

That’s rather, unprofessional of blizzard- ngl. In this case, anyone who holds a grudge against you can report you to have aimhack and you get suspended. I’m sorry you had your accounts suspended over something that could be easily avoided…
The reporting system is bad. Most sensible people understand it.
Regrettably company CEO’s are not sensible. They prefer cheap.
So, we got a cheap solution to a problem that can’t be fixed.
The trolls are still here and they probably do 99% of all reporting

Smart people report for…what it was called…gameplay sabotage? Nobody reviews them and if you try to appeal the ban a GM will tell you it was deserved. Case closed. Cheats are trickier, I bet they actually need to watch your gameplay to make certain. In theory at least. In practice I believe nobody really cares.

I reported them for game sabotage, griefing, abusive chat and for false accusations. Others in my team have reported them as well and have spoken up how my aim was completely normal just like everyone else’s. I assume because I’m new and still on a lower level, they thought pulling something like that to feed their ego.
You don’t get banned because 2 people report you. You get banned if plenty and plenty of people report you which only happens if there actually is something going on (be it toxicity, throwing or cheating). Particularly with cheating, they might send footage to Blizz which they presumably review. And since they aren’t whiners that just lost, you’re going to be fine.
One exception: if they decide to upload the video to the forums (which is illegal) they may incite a (n illegal) mob to mass report you.

Thank you for assuring me. I am extremely thankful to receive this specific information ; idk it just makes me calm now how it would take way more reports to be banned/suspended etc.
If they would do that, they might do that to other people in the future and can get in so much trouble for ‘doxxing’ (idk if that would count as doxxing but you get what I mean).

Hi there. This happens quite a bit at my end too.
Though i am an experienced and high level player so that comes with it.
Welcome to the community. I wouldn’t worry about such accusations.
If you are legitimate and don’t cheat, then you have nothing to worry about.
In addition, you may want to type in /hidechat during your matches so as to not be distracted by any toxicity or trash talk.
And you can press P once in a game lobby to bring up the player list and ‘squelch chat’ from there - Doing so will prevent players from spamming voice lines.
