wtf is going on with the broken afk timer that keeps counting and kicking you from a game, even when you’re not afk???

Could be they’ve tweaked it to stop people just moving about in spawn doing nothing.
yes always in spawn areas. But won’t stop even on leaving the spawn or healing someone. This is clearly broken af having cost me multiple matches already. Sometimes you need to go afk for few seconds and then you get screwed by this pos sort of a timer.

I noticed this!
Was doing a mh match and had to tab out to quickly help a player on my rust server. Heard the afk timer start so go back to the game and run out of spawn but it kept ticking down and then kicked me.
If it is to prevent afk spawns then they tweaked it too much.
Agree. Good idea, just needs fine tuning.
But the honest players getting caught out seem to be the ones that stand still a lot.
Maybe it is the “painful” less they need to stop doing that.

They do need to increase the AFK time, you can’t even come back when you’re kicked for being “AFK”
not afk-kicking players who aren’t afk would be a start tho.
They went overboard turning the afk-timer into you-must-play-properly-timer, but guess what. Those who aren’t keen on taking a leaver penalty will find a way to avoid being kicked for inactivity while still throwing/trolling the team to the bitter end, as they aren’t truly afk. The collateral damage from it will be normal players who ran to a ringing door bell but see themselves being inevitably “afk-kicked” as they return to keyboard right in time.

Easy solution. Don’t go afk.
If you get slapped with the punishment, learn from the mistake and move on.

At that point you have to accept the punishment, and move on.

Just something that happens. Doesn’t effect my game, as they were afk in the first place, so might as well be gone.
