Can SJW's just stop ?

Society really is crumbling if people are triggered over the fact that sigma has a mental problem. I’m serious. Some people are actually upset that there’s finally a dark character in the game.
The closest thing we’ve gotten to a dark character in OW is reaper, but people just meme about his darkness, even though it’s pretty horrifying if you think about it.
If you are an SJW or whatever it’s called now, and you don’t like something about the game, then please be reasonable. I don’t like that mercy’s voicelines make her sound like a stuck up brat, but that doesn’t stop me from having a blast with the game, so why should something like Sigma’s mental state affect you?

assuming he hasnt figured out how to enter your world and delete you from existence

This isnt’ a joke.

Blizzard will probably censor this soon enough for obvious reasons. If it’s not viewable, feel free to respond saying so.

Yeah i totally agree that some people take it too seriously, like sure i can understand that it’s nothing to joke about.

But i think it’s awesome how they could finally make another dark hero in overwatch, and making him have mental illness can actually be a positive thing as well. Some people might relate to him in some ways and not feel alone etc.

I hate how society treats ppl with mental problems like aliens, just because they don’t fit in to the “norms” or whatever. Like what O.O people who are like that are still normal human beings and should NOT be treated differently.

They just need some extra support to handle some situations.

But i really hope they won’t change anything about sigma, or censor him. It’s just stupid.

It is almost like, SJW´s want to disregard science and just be mad. Like any other argument they get mad at, it is not like a insanely schizophrenic person might have these issues.

Also no where do they actually say, that he has any problem related to a mental disorder we know. For all we know he could be influenced by aliens mentally or gone insane through years of solitude because of something that happened with the black holes. All in all, things that actually make you borderline, no not borderline, completely insane.

Let it go already. As I’ve implied in another thread, I think the crusade against SJW has become that much of a witch hunt, that the anti-SJW people are very similar than the exact thing they’re trying to complain about. These days, at the slightest glimpse of political correctness, a crowd of people jumps up screaming something about stupid SJW’s. Do you really not see the irony in that?

If threads bother you that much, ignore them. Just don’t reply and they’ll move to the bottom soon enough.

EDIT: And yes, I’m doing the same, but I’m aware of that and it’s a one time thing.

I think the concerns about Sigmas Mental stability is miss placed i think he is technically sane… his brain just sends random toughs and memories backwards and forwards in time confusing him and he keeps remembering parts a song he has not heard before and then he cant remember the rest of it which is probably really frustrating…

Also he may be partly Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde isnpired and if you can reference the clasics then we may as well give up on all fiction…

Also one could just as easily argue that he represents people with mental issues which is a good think… effectivly he is a bit like someone with a memory disorder of some kind… though at least he not forget people and see them as strangers… he is more likely to greet someone as an old friend who he has never meet… then wonder why he did that…

kinda wonder why he was locked up initially i cant see how he would be dangerous… it may have been an issue with him controlling the power initially or maybe he remembered being locked up and attacked those around him fearing capture… but that would kinda be a pradox…

because clearly the best way to deal with mental illness is to completely erase it from all media, the post you’re refering to is all about mocking mental illness and that mockery is literally…having someone with a mental illness. he’s not a joke character, and there’s plenty of people out there dealing with mental illness who deserve representation too.

you know for a fact that if blizzard said “we had a plan for this new hero but we don’t want mentally ill people in the game” these exact same people would kick off, just ignore them

Clearly some of you are new to gaming… So back in my day there was this awesome RPG called “Baldur’s Gate”.

The story in that revolved around Bhaal, a literal god of madness, and you were his child (SPOILER).

Minsc, Tiax, Shar-Teel, Xan, Xzar, all iconic characters, all utterly INSANE.

People will find anything to complain about. We’re just in that age. Forget his mental state, there’s people complaining about his damn bare feet! I like that he’s barefoot, it’s weird and funny in a way, but I still think it’s dumb not to cover your feet in battle with bombs going off all around you, but then again this is Overwatch, not Arma 3 so w/e :gorilla:

They are SJW’s. They never stop.

It’s more like that their lives are to boring, so they have to cause chaos and drama. It’s easier than to get your own life together.

Two people get mad over Sigma. Two hundred thousand people get mad over people getting mad over Sigma.

That is a good guess as well.

The problem is that if those 2 people are “journalists” that write an article about how bad blizzard is for creating this hero, it could create a lot of pressure.

For some companies, the resulting outcry was enough for them to force change and gave all the SJW that jumped on the train a feeling of power which they now try to use all the time.

I am just glad that we are finally at a point, where people realize more and more what garbage media has become and I just hope that more and more companies just ignore it.

It usually only takes a couple of days anyway until there is a park bench or a building that got painted white and everyone loses interest in sigma because they now cry about how discriminatory this evil park bench is.

I’m more annoyed by the fact this is the first straight white man we got in 3 years…

and this is how we are ‘represented’. I feel like I should be offended somehow…

Outside of that though, love the character.

well there was soldier but then Ellie the gamergirl happened so…i bet they are saving “JunkHog” for the next controversy.

I didn’t mean there weren’t any before (Torb), I mean they’ve been banging on about ‘representation’, and then when we finally get representation for straight white men from the DLC characters, they’re mentally unstable/compromised.

It almost feels…almost…like they are trying to say all straight white men are insane.

he is not insane… his brain just seam to be temporally un-anchored… he is perfectly sane… but occasionally he has stray thoughts and feeling from his past and future self as far as i can tell…

Though i suppose his captivity may have damaged him a bit as it would do to anyone… so he may benefit from some therapy there… but nothing can cure his brains tendency to do wibbely woobely timey whimey things…
how would you medicate that? or treat it?

On the plus side as he get closer and closer to the day he dies he will have less future thought broadcast back to bother him… so its kinda like reverse altimeters i guess… kinda… -ish…

don’t be silly, us white males don’t need representation, not like WE are the ones being oppressed lately or anything -_-

and most importantly, we have no idea how he is now. we only had the origin story which was immediately after the incident, he might be perfectly normal now

well… he does keep ranting and raving about that piece of music which i suspect he has not heard yet… i think it may be something in future… hell maybe it’s the last thing he hears before he dies… that would kinda explain why he obsesses about it too…

But that is just my little hypothesis…
