Why can’t we endorse friends, I’ve noticed when I’m in a group with my mates I can’t endorse them?

You can only endorse a player once every 12 hours so friends couldn’t really abuse endorsements?? Why is it so we can’t do it can someone explain

Perhaps just to ensure there’s no possible way for it to be abused.
I assume you can just unfriend them, play a game and then endorse them. Be friends again… repeat 12 hours later?

You can’t endorse the same player more than once every 12 hours

Cause it would be abused ? everyone would endorse their friends even when they are bad mannered else you would not call them “friends”

How can you abuse a system like that when you can only endorse a player once a day , unless you have no life and can actually endorse them twice lol

The idea of the endorsement system is to endorse someone who “deserved it”, not someone who is “just your friend”.

It makes the system flawed if they enable that biased option.

It has more to do with bias.

Imagine the following scene: 2 people are going to die and you can save one of them. The person on the left is a stranger and the person on the right is your friend. Who will you save?

Definitely the friend, right? And that’s the problem.

The endorsement system is built to endorse player for their teamplay and sportsmanship. However, due to your positive bias towards your friend, you will value your their sportsmantship a lot more than that of a stranger. After all, why else do you want to play with your friends?

By disabeling the option to endorse your friend, you can focus more on the other teammembers / opponents and decide wether they’re worth endorsing or not.

You can only endorse them once every 12 hours, and if most people stay in the game the team pool gets switched around and you play with the same people. I really don’t see the issue with endorsing friends lol

Being able endorse your friends is a good way to abuse a system meant to encourage positive behavior for everyone.
I’m glad they did this. The behavior in QP and Comp did a 180 and I’m more comfortable playing the game again.

People keep on saying it’s abusable, I really don’t see how it is though lol

Friends can get potg, be a crucial member of the team or pull of a clutch play aswell

The “endorsement” for your friend is the fact that you are his friend.

That friend is such a good teammate, is so respectful or is such a good shot caller that you chose to send them a friend request.

A friend request is 5 times as valuable as a boring endorsement.

You can’t endorse your friends so you can focus on the other players’ behavior.
And I say it again:

Why do you even want to endorse your friends so badly?

Reports are already being abused by groups, now lets make endorsements abusable too.

It’s an endorsement, not a report or an xp farm

I endorse randoms aswell, I endorse the enemy team. I endorse people that have played well, my friends have played well so I want to endorse them. I’m not looking to corrupt the system I just want to endorse my friends smh

Yet you have to remember that you are not everyone.

Other players will use it on the basis of favoritism.
Other players will prefer to endorse their friends first.

And imagine what happens if you don’t endorse your friend: Some people will get upset because of such a minor thing, causing argues over a stupid system.

Basically, the reason why you can’t endorse your friends could be that it’s better to be safe than to be sorry.

I’m sorry but if not getting endorsed after a game makes you feel upset you need to grow up

Yes it maybe abused, but it really holds no value to be abused if you can only endorse a player once every 12 hours.

1 game out of the 20-30 games you can play in one sitting will give you the option to endorse your mates lol

…doesn’t work here because the target group is huge, ranging from young to old and from casual to competitive players.

The personalities vary way too much to just say “grow a thick skin”.

Also, objectively speaking, it is unfair to be unable to endorse your friends.
However, subjectively speaking, it is completely fair because you value your friend’s performance the most.

Given the fact that people report others for chat abuse, just because they cussed a little bit, it is possible.

We can’t be sure about that for now. We don’t know how you level down. If you don’t lose an endorsement level over time, then that means it is exploitable:
You have a toxic friend who never gets an endorsement for obvious reasons but you could give him one every 12 hours, letting them reach the next level in an undeserved way.

And endorsing your friends doesn’t even matter that much because if your friends deserve an endorsement, then they will get it by other players anyway.

Again, they disabled friend endorsement to be “better safe than sorry”.

Because thats cheating the system.
Then you could “farm” those endorses with multiple accounts and thats not the point.
You can unfriend, then add to group (from previous players screen) and queue to match though but well … its a bit “thinking outside the box” and kind of cheating the system. Dont do that
