Change how leaving works

The consequences for leaving a competitive match are not serious enough, because we still get leavers. I’ve got some suggestions how to improve the situation.

  • Remove the match cancellation feature if they leave within 1 minute, it’s a waste of everyone’s time if the match gets cancelled.
  • Change the “no penalty after 1 leaver after x time” so that it only activates if there is 2 or more leavers on your team. 5v6 is still winnable, 4v6 and lower is not.
  • Add some machine learning to detect patterns, like if someone is leaving with one account and then immediately logging in with another account from the same IP address or something, that is a professional griefer and all the associated accounts need to be banned.

In fact just generally add more machine learning, to the matchmaking, to the cheat detection, all of those kinds of mechanisms. Right now they are just straight up classical algorithms and it’s clear this isn’t good enough.

The “no penalty after 1 leaver after x time” is actually a lie.
The leaver loses 50 points and a few minutes suspended, if you leave after the timer you aren’t suspended, you lose 25 BUT the next game, if you win you get between 2 and 5 SR, so just as if you had the minus 50 from the leaver who ruined your game.
I thought it was a bug, but I think it’s working as intended since it’s been here since forever.
So why do you have to suffer the same penalty as the leaver?

So I will keep “having fun” in 1vs6 or 2vs6 when being flamed by the other team cause I refuse to leave.

And btw 5 vs 6 is winnable ok but it should not be because it goes against the concept of fair matchmaking. If you can win 5 vs 6 it means that the teams were really uneven from the start and thus the system is flawed.
