I see absolutely no point in having an off-season, yeah some players want to have a match with competitive rules that is not actually competitive, but why make it 3 days? thats just plain stupid.
I hate playing QP and Arcade because I love it when I can get a decent group of tryhards that want to win the game, off-season is just another QP match that is twice as long.
I know alot of players play this game for competitive play and when the season ends theres absolutely no reason for them to play it. If players really want QP with competitive rules Blizzard can just add another game mode and thats it, why make it boring for players that only want to play the game in competitive mode…
It probably won’t be removed, but making it 3 days is just weird, it should be 1 day only.

I just use it as a time to practice, either with my current main or with a different hero I might be interested in trying.
So Blizzard can just add a Competitive Quick play mode, instead of stopping competitive for 3 days…

Those days can be used to give people a break, we don’t always know we need a break or want to take one, having a sort of enforced one is probably good for us all. A few days with no SR on the line allows for a fresh start next season.
Why not let people choose whether they want to take a break or not? it makes no sense to enforce a break on people, if they want to take a break they can, if they don’t, they can keep playing.

Off-season is utterly stupid, and for me its 3 days during which I can’t play Overwatch, because QuickPlay is unbearable cancer I won’t endure anymore.
You can still play competitive, theres just no SR changes.
what is competitive without SR? Yeah, right, its QP.

the time between seasons on for blizzard not for you… they take time to work on what they need for the next season… also overwatch has a very short off seasons compared to most games to be thankful
Well… that kinda defeats the purpose of playing competitive. Also people are much more prone to leave, troll and throw in off season comp. And you’re forced to stay because leaving the game would be punished just as usual. So obviously people will play QP in between seasons.
They can bloody well do that while the current season is ongoing. Dont tell me they are limited to only being able to do whatever it is they need to do while it’s off season. They can work whenever they want.
Off-seasons are supposed to be this in-between thing where casual competitive players can take some time off from the game while streamers and other high tier active players can keep on going. They can’t exactly go to QP and demand complete competitive environment there so this is to minimize the frustration.
What I don’t understand is why it’s such a small window AND why don’t we have events in between? They could make it 10 days (3d that already exist + 1 week) of which 7 days would be some sort of a competitive event with varying rewards.
