That means they catched you today and not exactly the day it happened, so ?

Prob is, its by number of reports.
Now the community figured that if you press the report chat abuse button enough he/she will first get silenced and then 1 week ban.(this is all automated)
I really dont get why blizz gave that power when 90% of the player-base are oversensitive, and offended by the slightest thing.

Most of the player base don’t care about most things, but if you’re objectively being a prat, it’s not the player base that’s over sensitive, it’s the individual being a prat. People think that because they have anonymity behind a keyboard it gives them free licence to act and speak as they please - that’s not a community vibe people want
Its most likely the other way around mate. Most people see a salty dude and think “meh, idaf, next match” and most people dont report.
I can tell you i dont filter myself and ive NEVER been silenced or banned. If someone got an abusive chat strike and a suspension i am positive its not because 10-20 “snowflakes” got offended, that dude has to be REALLY toxic and probably got 100+ reports.
You can say that can be abused but at which point it becomes ridiculous to deny that someone that has … 120 reports or 230 abusive chat reports is being WAY TOO TOXIC ?.
Think about that. Its all about the threshold

I mean, it would explain the ban, even if it still shouldn’t really be used that way.
I got a silence warning after i played a evening of games with my girlfriend who is a gold mercy main, people report me for being master and they are gold/ plats, after the game most are like “nerv reported”.
And on a other note, you can say what ever u want in my opinion without being afraid of being banned, but not physical or personal threats.
This needs to change, blizz is being really good in silencing people, Think they took note of a certain group who came into power in 1933. just look what treads the moderator decides to close, the ones that dont go into line with most of the Blizz staff political views or there choices of words.

Its on the ToS that you accept to follow on in order to play the game so dont complain about rules and mindsets that were explained to you long ago.
