Cheater are not scary to get banned!
I’m sad to tell this but Overwatch is flooded by cheater. Most of them you will find in quick play and arcade mode because it’s not necessary to level up for ranked and they (also the developer of cheats) can tune and test their cheats easy and fast. And most people don’t care about cheater in these modes. And cheater don’t care about to get banned. If so, they just buy the game key for just a few bucks and start their cheating s*** again. In ranked you will find cheater but they are more hard to spot because they activate the cheats not all the time. Or have a very good tuning for their cheats.
The market for cheats!
The price for cheats is often 2-3 x of the game. So it’s a big market and sadly it’s not forbidden by government/law. You can buy them legally just google for the game and cheats. Blizz is telling us they are going harsh against cheater. But if so why I find so much of them. And therefor who does guarantee us that game developer do not deal with cheat developer while it is such a big market. Hopefully not!!! More sadly I saw a report where the cheater developer earned a lot of more money than the game developer. This can’t be true!
Cheater are a Problem for our social/sociaty in real life!
So while it’s not regulated by law/government and cheater don’t get punished, it feels like that cheating is welcome in our society. And in kind cheater acting in games they will do still in real life, too. I’m not sure if you wanna live in that kind of world/sociaty. Maybe is too late to stop this behaviour cause it’s too much broad out. The only way for me is to spot cheater, make them public and forbid cheat development worldwide.
How to spot a cheater!
I played a lot of ranked and quick play, arcade rounds and know every champ in detail. So I’m familiar with quite every mechanic of Overwatch.
Here are some enlightenment…
Yeah, it’s not as easy as you might think. Cheats today are like a kind of AI(artificial intelligence) and they mimic user behavior to get not uncovered by other player which always think they are just good player. Use the replay and spectator mode to spot and report them. Also cheats are not activated all the time a good indicator for cheats is also if a player is suddenly very strong while he was not or not that strong before. And well cheats are not a guarantee to win so cheater also lose but in sum they win a lot. And the cheat tuning in the one or other direction makes the difference to increase their statistics. Everything else would be too easy to spot.
Aimbots:
Aimbot don’t hit every time with a headshot, nor its full focused on the body in rapid fire, it’s quite 70-90% or less. This is adjustable in the Cheat configuration. But often (and you have to look rly precisely) you can see a little fast focus to the body or head looks like a flatter or simillary in the last little moment. It’s not 100% clear but it’s a good indication for an aimbot.
Wall-/ESP-hack:
As widow you can use your ult and try to figure out how the others behave behind their lairs. If you see people only get out of their lair when everything is fine (every time) it’s an indication.
If you get hunted/traced all the time and you just still covert and don’t shoot or make any noise but they still know where you are. It’s an indication. Just remember there are some mechanics like Widows Ultimate to make you visible. But its just some seconds. Wallhacks are the most hacks I figured out btw.
ESP-hacks are the next level of wallhacks they still show the cheater where you are and how far away you are or if you are attackable or not.
Survival Hack:
There are different kinds of survival hacks. So some protect the cheater from dieing with the last few hit points, so he can escape. Others don’t let you hit him with every shot. Its hard to see but try to be sure you hit him while he didn’t took damage. Often you can see it in the replay.
Damage Hack:
So there are some one shot hacks I got in contact with. But too obvious and don’t see a lot of them. Moste of damage hacks do just like a little bit more than normal. But combined with a survival hack you can rule the whole game alone and most player think he must be upper diamond “OMG”. Often saw a Wreckingball which did quite the same damage like a bastion. Really annoying.
Speed Hack:
Its hard to spot them cause they are not all the time activated the cheater seems completely normal also in game fights. But if you try to run away and they normally could’t get out of you (game mechanics like Soldier speed, or Widow hook, Wreckingball-Ball J excluded) is an indication. Also if you try to get/hunt someone and he’s all the time a little bit faster then you it’s a bit strange. So they are not like flying over the map its just a little bit to get out or in which makes the difference. I had a situation where I was hunting one. If was quite 2-3 Steps behind him and only after a wall where I couldn’t see him, he must have activate his hack and he was 8 Steps away. No mechanics no other player to help him. A very clever hack.
Auto Attack:
It’s very similar to aimbots. But with auto attack the cheat know when it’s worth to attack some or not. E. g. Genji can reflect bullets. So with auto attack the cheater just shoot in that moment when Genji’s reflect ends. Another indication is the slash move. In a lot of replays I see people they do their slash exactly at the moment I’m in range and the ammo ends. So good player can do this manually, too. But not in that exact time every time.
Very good player!
And yes, I know there are a lot of good player which are good to play some out or have a good feeling of the avoid moves and hiding of others and are aiming gods. But if there is something that feels magic or some has second sight… well it’s close to be cheating.
So what should I do if I spot a cheater!
Important! Whatever you are sure or not it is a cheater, please report him! As I wrote its hard to spot cheater and even for myself I can’t be 100% sure in a lot cases. But Blizz has a lot more possibilities to analyze if it’s a cheater or not. So give Blizz the opportunity to decide if it’s a cheater or not by reporting in case of doubt. But don’t be harsh and report every one which is just better then you this will not help and I don’t want that every reader here wanna spam Blizz with unnecessary reports. This will it make just harder for Blizz to sort out.
How to report!
I got asked by a lot by people how to report 
So in Menu “on your Keyboard ESC until you see it” or on main screen (after you start the game) click on “Friends and Groups” then on “Last team member” there you can find the name of the player you want to report. Select for “cheating”. Type in the comment which cheat you might think to figured out and in which situation you spot it.
Five Reasons why you may not agree with me!
I know there will be coming a lot of dislike- and disagreement-comments for this. But I have my stand point. So here are the five reasons why some might not agree.
- 1st and the most probable one: You are a cheater by your own!!! And you just want to defend your s*** behavior.
- 2nd: You are bought or an employee by Blizzard and you don’t want that some let negative comments about their game
- 3rd: You don’t know how to spot cheater (until now ;)).
- 4th: You’re an ignorant and just wanna complain others
- 5th: You are too new to this game and don’t know the mechanics and what’s possible and what’s not.
Why I did wrote all this stuff?
Well, I hate cheater!!!
For me they:
- Ruine competitive gaming.
- Are poison for social sociaty
- Ruine and destroy game development companies
- Doing same in real life situations which may result in stupid illogical political decisions and impact our environment, animal survival, infrastructure, living and everything else (And no this is not too far away or poetic)
So help to stop this cheating, I will do! You can take these information for quite every competitive game.
