Cheating ingame

Is it just me or the amount of aimbots in the game has drastically increased lately (talking like every other game sometimes), especially in qp since people usually don’t care much to report as much as they do in comp?

It is not only you but everyone else including Blizzard seems to deny the existence of cheaters. I have also noticed that cheating is way more common in quick play than in competitive.

Don’t ever call them out it’s not worth it. I’ve got banned two times just for calling out obvious cheaters.
By obvious, I mean something like this: https://streamable.com/w7tzo

All you can really do is report them and hope for the best …

I doubt that blizzard “denies” the existence of cheaters. There is acutally proof for that:

In the past, aimbots identified enemies by their red outline. Blizzard took account to that and added a patch that changes the hue of the outline over time. It’s invisible for the human eye but, because of that, aimbots were tweaked on one specific color.

Nowadays, those aimbots are more advanced, digging into the code itself to find the enemy’s coordination, etc. Blizzard just has to find a way to solve that, too, but it takes time.

There are no “Kephriis” in plat you know

That is not their point.

What they try to say is that there is a margin of players, plats, too, whose playstyle can look like they use aimbots. However, they just “flick” while aiming.

Another point they mentioned is that some advanced aimbots “simulate” normal aiming by making the aim jitter and intentionally missing shots. That makes it difficult to identify wether the hacker is tuly hacking. It causes some misinterpretations where innocent players are falsely accused for hacking, too.

Do we really need to take this personal?

Aimbots miss. It’s not like in those old games when you would run towards the enemy and 360 degrees headshot everyone. Aimbots or aim assists only help you aim but does not lock your crosshair or anything, you can still move it and make misses.

This is a classic excuse. What if he has just picked up on cheating? On top of that many people throw games or lose intentionally in order to stay in a low elo, or borrow accounts from others. Or simply buy a new one and place it in plat. There are countless scenarios possible.
Are you trying to say that there are no cheaters in plat?
Well that guy in the video was a cheater indeed. I’ve got that feedback thing the next day he got banned.

Absolutely! But did you know there are things called “flickbots”? They do exactly what their name suggests.

Do you actually realize there are no pro players in plat? Except smurfs of course.

Sadly a lot of people straight out denies that such a thing exist.

And it works the other direction as well when aimbot shots are being called legit.

Well you know that it’s possible to make an aimbot that misses every other shot or keybound activation, yet still having a 50-60% accuracy is massive and you don’t really need more than that to actually faceroll games…
However for my case, I rarely play comp, 90% of my playtime is on qp, and I’m talking about the drastic increase of good aim there just recently, so either I’m falling slightly behind or there is something really weird happening and by weird I’m talking about 97+ % accuracy on hitscans with people who have barely a couple of hours on the hero.
And yes they can be on alt accounts, and yes people know the difference between flickshot aim and tracking aim, and some people don’t really care if they lost a qp or got outplayed because after all this is just a game… Yet still the fact that there are some weird percentages in accuracy lately made me wonder and speak about it, tho I still don’t understand why people get all worked out as if this is a “Taboo” matter that shall never be spoken of.

Wow you seem very knowledgable on aimbots. Still doesnt change the fact that this could just be a dude with flick aiming, you saying that there are people who have aimbots that intentionally miss, would make it very hard to see the difference between a Aimbot, and someone that Flick aims doesn’t it.

But now because of people like you I have to watch out not getting massivly reported by people who say; Oh look he lands 4 headshots in a row, must be aimbot. You cant proof he’s using an aimbot, and you being banned for it twice already should tell you that your knowledge on detecting one isnt that high.

Well one of the reasons for making this post is for Blizzard to see it, work on it and solve the issue if available, so that people with good aim can play and be praised for their efforts and cheaters be punished.
If you say you can get 4 elims in a row then you should be happy that authentic players with good aiming skills like yourself are the only good snipers in the game and not some scrubs using third party softwares to play the game for him.
Like I said, I don’t mind getting outplayed, usually I say it on coms to my premade to “Watch out, that widow or mccree or [insert hitscan name here] is good, he just effed me up” then try my best to outplay that person.
So yeah a good sniper is a good sniper and his skills should be respected, yet I won’t accept that a game that I enjoy so much after a long day at work get damaged by cheaters, hopefully you should feel the same.

Landing a few headsshots is very far from actual cheating you know. Having such skill is respectable.

You need to look closely at the suspected cheater’s crosshair and its target when it jumps over objects. If the crosshair follows it is very likely to be an aimbot, else it’s not. The reason is simply humans aren’t that fast to notice and react to minor changes in motion.
No matter we are talking about a pro or a casual player. Yes lucky or skilled shots happen, but not 5 times in a row with perfect following including when the target jumps or uses a movement ability or spams A-D crouch.

It’s not that I was wrong, it’s rather that calling out cheaters is against the rules. Do you know that “thanks for reporting” screen? Got that several times.
However often times it feels like I can’t really do anything against cheaters but to call them out right away and realize later that it only gets me into trouble.

The widow in this clip was obvously not cheating. Platinum is the place where you will come across those kind of widows, not in diamond not in gold. You shouldnt accuse anyone that easily for using cheats.

Listen here boy I play the game for 2 guys since season 2 and im 1k lvl. I came across an aimbot once in my life.
If you come here telling me that sometimes you spot cheaters every other game, maybe you don’t really know what aimbot looks like.

I agree with you completely, I havent seen anyone cheat in any of my games so far, lvl 500+. Just cause someone can flick, and the play of the games have alot to do with latency to, so the thing that you see on your own screen, might not be 100% accurate on whats happening on the other persons screen.

You sound like Clint Eastwood! Guess that makes your argument correct and cool.
Sorry for stating something that collides with your excessive experience… Gets off Paradox’s lawn in shame

We are 2 strangers who are arguing online about cheaters in overwatch.
It should sound “funny”.
Oh and idk what gave you the impresion that you shouldn’t collide with my excessive experience, I just said you are exaggerating hyperbolically the truth.

Mate, I know the difference between good aim (flick shots or tracking) I have a friend Hanzo main on masters who got falsely banned for “Cheating” the guy is simply too good (which sucks and I wouldn’t wish it on any good player who spent hundreds of hours mastering hitscans, or to live in constant fear for getting banned after landing a few good consecutive shots)… I know there are many good snipers out there and I have full respect for them, they simply make the game more exciting and challenging which I’m totally up for!
I’m not solely talking about widow mains, more like any hitscans whose cam simply moves in abnormal ways.
Yes maybe I slightly exaggerated when saying “every other game”, but lately I have been encountering these people more often than before, by that I meant those who flick onto a target but the cam locks there until that target dies and automatically proceed to the next target on point, no twitching and barely any noticeable mouse movement, just pure robotic cam swings point to point.
So yeah you can adapt to your sensitivity until you become just too good, but there is still a human limit factor.
Also no hard feelings bruh, I just don’t want a game I love to end up like other games and wanted to voice this out just in case, sorry about the exaggeration, but sometimes emotions can take over in such unfair cases.
PS: I’m not one of those guys who gets killed a couple of times then my ego takes over and insta-report someone for cheating… I actually take my time, look into their profile, try to get matched with them the next game, to have evidence THEN proceed to report if anything still seems obviously wrong.

I would be so grateful and happy if I were you. You must be playing an other game or just happen to be very lucky if you haven’t seen any but just one cheater in your entire career!

Since Season 11 started I have seen aimbots in almost EVERY SINGLE GAME. I have been playing fps twitch games since the 1990’s and am very experienced with what aimbots look like.

Literally this week I don’t think I’ve played two or maybe three games that didn’t have aimbotters. I find they like the following Heroes the most:

-Hanzo
-Roadhog aimbot hook
-Widow
-Tracer

I caught a pharah aimbotting the other week, a Tracer aimbotting today, and a zenyatta aimbotting a few days ago. Yes, Zenyatta is a bad-ass with an aimbot. He spins 270 degrees with perfect precision and takes out a full team. I watched an aimbotting zenyatta take out three of my teammates then me in about two seconds. We were all spread out really far from each other and at very high angles from each other. He just went tag, tag, tag, tag and we were all dead.

I’ve also seen an increase in wall hacks. Some of the aimbotters seem to use the aimbot as a sort of wallhack. They point straight to me when there is no way they know I am behind the wall. Of course they corner with aim already on me and kill me. It’s so obvious on the deathcam.

The most annoying hack now for me is the Nuke Hack. When you are clearly crushing and winning a comp game, the cheaters on the losing team will use a Nuke Hack on your connection. You get disconnected, get a loss, lose SR points, and Blizzard issues you a suspension. Nuke Hacking has gotten really bad this season.

You are not imagining it. Aimbotters are in every game now. Consider yourself lucky if it’s only one. On days like Friday nights I’ve seen two or even three aimbotters on the same team.
