People are gravitating towards MR because their comp system is so much easier to maneuver. I feel like you should get points even if you lose games based on your sole performance. Especially in solo queue it’s nearly impossible to rank up. I’ve been back and forth in between bronze 1 and silver 5 everytime I play comp. I’m better than silver 5 but because I had a surge of lackluster teammates, I lost majority of my games in placements. Everyone deserves to gain a bit of points based on performance in general. That way there’s always some progression being made even when you lose. Like you lose a percentage when you lose but if you did really well that round you lose less points or something like that idk. Also when people leave on the other team, it should be counted as a win for the other team. When you leave it counts as a loss so why not count as a win for the other team?
Comp is getting a rework in season 15. Well, there are “big changes” so we shall see what they are when they are ready to tell people.
I wish they would just not do all of this “uphill”, “demotion protection” etc but just give the raw elo number (in OW context the SR), like in Chess, Go, Shogi. Everything else is just silly fluff that distracts.
Edit: …and also show the rating numbers of all participants of a match, for reference/logging. I like my data to be complete.

Yeah, giving names to things like, certainly the modifiers, that was a mistake. It just gave ammo to the strange people that want to claim everything is broken and against them specifically, and just highlighted how clueless they were. Neither being positive outcomes.
Yeah. Just the rank badge will do. As MMR is now 1:1 with rank. It won’t change anything in reality, but might sooth some of the heavily misplaced hate from the lost folk.
There are lots of small little things they can change. But overall, games in a pretty solid place. Hopefully the changes to rank in season 15 are positive ones. I suspect it’ll be another faux reset plus having a 6v6 ranked option. But we shall see.
