The skill range is far to broad.

If your aim is the make it fair each individual game shouldn’t be the polar opposite of the other.
I swear you also try to pair decent players with fresh players but this system doesnt work. Just means the decent player tries there best keeps flatlined as a result. I’m so tired of seeing an enemy team where i cant pick a single fault. Then the team im placed in with a moira doing less then 1k healing in 3 rounds or a baptiste who doesnt no how to play the guy.
Surely if your all the same rank it should be tight night COMPETETIVE matches.
Bringing smurfs back was the cherry on top this just isn’t fun anymore.

And this notion that its based on individual performance is clearly untrue, might be losing matches but keeping high positive averaging between 14 - 18k with plenty of control point time. Still getting downgraded.

This couldn’t be more true.
I was a Diamond player in OW1 and all I get ranked with is Bronze people who don’t know how to play the game and nobody ever speaks to each other. Definitely feels like they match old players with the new ones - why can’t they match the old players with the older ones and the newer players all together.
Also I think we really need some sort of way to track how far along we are on the next rank, if you play a couple games of QP you can’t see the last games you played in comp and they haven’t given us any sort of way of knowing where you are other than the replays section - am I 2 more losses from my next rank or 10?
I just find it so much more demoralising to play this game than OW1, it feels like I impact games much less even if I’m doing well. Doubt I’ll play this much until the PvE comes out.

Even in my diamond games, I’m getting people who haven’t used an ult throughout the entire match, lacking in complete damage, positioning, comms etc.
Almost at a level of bot.
What they have done to MM is very Very odd. I even doubt that they have tested this properly given the defects that we had in Live.

its the worst match making in any game I’ve seen in 20 years, diamond 1 lobby just now had a brand new player on tank. thanks for the free lose blizzard…
at this point i am only playing to finish last few levels of battle pass then i am done with the game, MW2 is a week away hopefully that’s better.
I can’t believe they haven’t commented on this when it should be #1 priority, this is the kind of crap that makes the player base toxic lol. we shouldn’t have to put up with this.

As i said, account level is a legacy OW1 thing and not updating with OW2. They have clearly done the 50 hours and have an MMR in the same range as you.
Profile stalking is a really daft thing to do. Partly because the information is misleading, and partly because it clearly just tilts you.

Were you playing ranked or quick play?
If you were playing QP you can go away, none of this matters.
If you’re playing ranked, their MMR is similar to yours and the profile is bugged and not updating (a known issue)
why the F would i play quick play, since when does quick play have ranks?
