Competitive Balancing

Why the Competitive game mode as it stands needs to change!
Now there are gonna be people who are going to say I’ve just had bad luck and competitive isn’t like that for me and granted, comp does work for people…however for others. Not so much, here’s why

  1. Balance. Comp is so unbalanced it’s unreal. comp is meant to be about taking your player skill above the average player and becoming a “god” with the hero’s you play. however this isn’t the case, you can load into a match and EVERYONE go DPS hero’s and get steamrolled. This means comp becomes an unfair and unbalanced game mode. I can hear people saying, “that’s why you just que in a group”, and that brings me to my next point.
  2. Group que’s. I know, no one likes to wait for que’s, increasingly so when you are sitting there waiting for 30-40 minutes plus. BUT, when you get a good comp (2 tanks, 2 healers, 2 dps) and you enter the game and get steamrolled by a party of 6, who are obviously using voice chat and so on. This again, makes the comp game mode unfair and VERY unbalanced.

So what would i change?

  1. I’d reward players for play more than one hero in a category. (I.e More exp if you play support and dps, or dps and tank, so on). This will make most players think, “more exp = more loot”.
Or maybe add in at the side where it says ‘no tanks’, have an exp boost to make people think, “if i play rein i get 25% increased earned exp”. This in turn will get people playing more hero’s and thus opening up comp alittle more.

  2. Group que. This is…situational, for people who are solo queing, this would be bless. No more 6 man groups steamrolling you, just normal 1-2, (3 at max) players in a group just wanting to have fun, it seems logical to split them up, problem le solved. But on the other hand, for people in 3-6 man teams looking for games, it MIGHT increase que times…might.

*Note, i am not saying we need a role que, get out with that because that WILL ruin the game for sure.

Post your thoughts!

Incentive’s for playing multiple roles can be tricky. What if someone’s a support main, and can flex between supports very well, but can’t tank ? Now they’ll just start tanking for the incentive but that in turn would negatively affect the outcome of the game as they suck at tanking…
