So recently I decided to start playing Overwatch again, as I seriously like most of the heroes, maps and just the average playstyle.

I don’t really care about my SR, I got placed 3k and dropped to 2880 or something now.

I remember having lots of fun around season 2-3-4, but that’s long gone now. Whenever I join a match I have at least 1 to 3 onetricks. I don’t want to point out specific heroes because there’s lots of ways to approach this, but in certain scenarios onetricking really disrupts the team effort.

The majority of the games I lose are lost due to toxicity, which kind of surprised me. It’s insane how many people think they’re gods in this game, telling others what to do without asking, that kind of stuff.

Then the rest of my games are lost due to people trying to get potg? When we’re holding the point they just rush towards enemy spawn and die. Then it’s a lost cause since the enemies are aware they are at an advantage and rush us. We have won such matches but not thanks to our POTG rushers.

I understand Overwatch is a dynamic game and locking people to a certain role (talking about role queueing) would perhaps restrict us, but meanwhile it would make the game experience for me lots better. I honestly think the matchmaking system is busted at the moment. Again I don’t care about losing SR, I care about the WAY I’m losing my SR. There have been matches I enjoyed losing, just because they were really close games.

Right now about every game I play there are people screaming in voice chat, spamming text chat with insults and all the good stuff, onetricks, people trolling and it really got to me. I also had lots of the ‘‘thank you for reporting’’ messages, which kind of proves my point, but still about every game I play is so toxic and just not fun to play, I’m almost scared to queue for competitive anymore.

There might not be a straight forward solution to this, but I’d like to hear you guy’s opinion on this. Maybe I’m just having huge bad luck on my teammates? I’m no pro player by any means, that’s why I value having a good time over winning, but right now it feels like every match I play is just filled with hatred.

Wether you’d agree or not, please tell me why so I could understand your point of view.

I have the same experience. I feel like the amount of trolls and flamers have increased. I love the game, but it has become unplayable for me. 2/3 games today were defined by trolls(sym portal off a cliff etc) and games with 4-5 dps and people screaming in voice chat off the bat. Maybe i will come back and play if it improves some day, but i have had my fill for now.

I have to agree here. I have played 10 matches today and about 4 of them had had leavers. I really cannot see how competitve is fun anymore. I skipped a season and because of this I got placed a fair amount lower than if I wasn’t to have skipped that season. I am a high silver (used to be low-mid gold) and I am in elo hell. Everu other match I have; someone that is either trying to throw the game or leaves.

I have someone in one of my games where they were talking in team chat instead of actually playing which cost us the game. Thankfully I only lost about 20 elo points which is nothing much. However in my most recent game we had a leaver that costed me 50 elo points which for me is a lot because it has become so hard to actually escape my rank and climb back to where I was.

I also had a symetra in one of my games and I thought, “well, this could work out well” the second she placed her teleporter we were all jumping to our deaths.

I am not going to lie as there is no point in lying; but this season has been one of my cleanest seasons, I haven’t left any matches or raged at the team but it really feels like a slap in the face with who I am getting placed with. When I used to leave matches, I got less smurfs and throwers and leavers which is quiet ironic really.

Competitive in Overwatch has become broken. I think a large majourity of people now look at Competitive as quick play just with potential rewards for Golden Guns. Elo has lost it’s meaning in Overwatch and dislike this all you want but; I would rather play competitive as quick play because of the fact elo honestly doesn’t matter anymore.

OW has become report wars, see who cant report everyone else the most for their own opinion of how the game should be played. The only thing you should be reported for is abusive chat, IMO, no one throws matches, just sometimes people play really bad and that’s ok for me.

Comp is getting worse and worse because a lot of good players that play the game activily before and enjoyed it quit only at the end there will be only trash and toxic players so it’s better to stay out of it till we come back…

I was one match away from hitting gold 2-3 weeks ago. After that, one loss would negate me the SR i made in 2 or more wins. And the worst is yet to come. Most of the games I tried to communicate, but most of my teammates had no mic, or worse, when they had, they were toxic…like, nuclear test site toxic. Of course, i could not forget the throwers, Throwbjorns and Symmetras on attack, useless Brigitte who is trying to kill Widowmaker or Pharah while being far away, or the whole team scattering while leaving me behind on the point or the payload

Now, i am on the borderline with Bronze. I am really doing my best to follow the guides to become a better tank/support. I also admit that there were some major mistakes done by me, but i have taken the blame for all of it. On the other side, most of my teammates were pointing fingers at each other, while letting the enemy team steamroll us during the match. I am really losing hope. I work hard, I try to do my role (tank/support, because no one wants to do the dirty work), but this is hopeless.

agreed… i put the game on hold because i got sick of the matchmaker, ranked and people trowing the games…

My net sucks sometimes and ive lost games coz i got disconnected. I did come back within 2 minutes but the game marked it as a loss. Which is stupid. Im quitting comp for season 10. Blizzard shouldnt put penalties if you got DCed and came back.

I’m not too sure how the new rank system put together the lobby. But ever since the new rank system came out, I (only solo Q) haven’t have a single game where my team has a higher average rank than the opposing team. I don’t get reward with more rank progressing when i win. This seems very unfair.

The ranked system doesn’t have any involvement in putting the lobby together.

That is the match maker. Which uses MMR as a reference point to do its job.

The ranked system is awful. Leavers and team mates which dont belong in their rank. The game is going downhill fast and the devs seem unwilling to fox anything. It baffles me that other shooting games can produce balanced rounds yet overwatch fumbles time and time again.

Because the player numbers and revenue on a month by month basis isn’t going down. It’s been around the same for over a year.

There is no evidence of a massive problem forcing players to move on.

Just move on to another game, the game is just full of cheaters and even a novice can create a pixel aimbot. Plenty of YT tutorials on how to do it. You wont get banned until they decide to do a banwave and even then they dont know when they want to do one. haha
