I play a lot of competitive games with my friend, and I don’t really understand the modifier system. When we win a game, he gets modifiers and wins around 50%. As for me, I never have modifiers in the end of the games, and I win maximum 22%, this hinders my competitive progress and I would very much like to know if there is a reason for this.

That means you were in a lobby that the average MMR was about your MMR.
Where as your friend was playing in a lobby they wouldn’t normally be in if playing solo. or they are on a fresh account and they are getting some of the “uncertainty” modifiers, but that will fade very quickly.
