Start with the specs.
AMD 5700x
2x8gb corsair 3600 ddr4 ram
Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II motherboard
Lexar NM710 1TB
Sapphire 7800XT nitro plus
Game constantly crashes, hope the driver updates would work, but no dice. At LEAST once in every 4 games results in my screen freezing, the audio looping the last 4 seconds of the game and my computer becoming unresponsive. This has resulted in many suspensions, and competitive losses.
After the game crashes as mentioned the screen is locked, I am unable to open taskmanager, switch tabs, or close the application. The only way to exit this freeze is to hold down the power button on my pc and restart it. ALT+F4 does nothing. CTRL+ALT+DELETE does nothing.
I have tried to
uninstalling AMD adrenaline,
rollback drivers,
lower ram speeds,
disable BAR,
undervolting GPU,
overclocking GPU,
disabling adrenaline overlays,
Disabling adrenaline modes (boost, super resolution, etc.)
changing in game graphics settings
but nothing has had an impact.
MSI afterburner tells me that the GPU is NOT overheating when it crashes sitting mostly at around 80 degrees C.
Any other suggestions? Anyone else having this issue? I’m probably just gonna quit playing if this continues.
I will update this post if I find a solution, which probably won’t happen.
