Dealing with 2 snipers?

I know it’s only quick play but having 2 snipers on attack is the opposite of team work.

How do you deal with them when they are on your team, normally on attack?
Do you leave the match?
Pick a certain hero?
Do things that are seen as reportable offences?
Carry on as normal?

Personally I find time for Torb and Bastion when I see 2 snipers on my team.

In quick play, snipers are pretty easy to play.

You sit at the back and press your fire button until you accidentally hit a healer in the head, then you feel like you won because of your skills, even if it took you 500 shots to hit anything.

In quickplay, they’re low skill, easy to play and highly rewarding. Of course you get them every single game.

i wait for the game to progress… if i see them doing nothing i’ll report them ASAP

same with idiots not picking what the team needs… (spamzo’s, spunkrats, mei’s, etc. crap that just doesn’t work at that moment)

I don’t know why. Right now, Hanzo is the most broken character in the game, and Widow is very strong too.
Even in competitive high level it’s a common strategy nowadays, so shouldn’t you be happy instead that even in QP you manage to get a competitive line-up ?

I know it’s been a long trend to complain about snipers, as some time ago even having a signle one of them was a little troll, but things change, and right now double-snipers is one of the best DPS combinations you can go for.

So my advice to deal with them would be : how about you don’t grief / throw, and learn about meta changes instead, so that you can realize when your team composition actually is bad / good ?

Besides that, even before rework Hanzo was always decent in QP, as his aim was (and is) more than forgiving and takes advantage of the lack of coordination. Widow is harder since you need to actually aim at the opponent and a bad Widow won’t hit a lot of shots.
However, no matter how bad they play, you’ll still get better results by playing seriously, rather than just deciding the game over before it’s actually finished.

Double sniper can be crazy powerful on some maps. And even if not, they’re having fun. Let them.

That was not the question…

Ah, sure - to deal with 2 snipers, i usually pick the best way to enable them or ignore them.

If my team has tanks, i go healer. Zen or Mercy are great for giving your snipers a boost with discord or damage amp.

If my team has healers, i go tank. Pretty much all the tanks can be used to give the snipers enough space to do something useful. If i can take down barriers for them that’s even better - so Hog is a good quick play pick.

If the enemy team has barriers that are stopping them from doing damage, i’ll pick a barrier breaker or tank popper, like bastion, reaper or junk.

If its 5dps, i go lucio, because who cares, the game is lost, i just wanna have fun and boop stuff

[edit] plus Lucio is a surprisingly effective distraction, if you want the enemy to turn round to you so they get shot in the back

It’s quickplay. Who gives a damn? That loss isn’t gonna hurt your progress to another gold gun, and it won’t drop your competitive rank down the gutter.

Quick play exists to be played casually, for players who just want to play for the fun of it.

Disagree. Quick play is also a warm up for comp and a way to practise. Saying its worthless isnt true for everyone.

I play “tryhard” on QP as warmup for comp, so I can agree on one thing.

The other thing being is that I also take that opportunity to practice that comp. Double attack sniper is a great composition with a very specific strategy. You gradually move to control a growing area with the 2 snipers, slowly restricting the defender’s ability to be present around the objective.

If you see it happen, try and involve them by asking them to call targets on voice as they come in or to tell them when it’s safe to advance to a perch closer to the objective. You’ll learn how to work with 2-sniper comps as well as be less annoyed with them.

Its fine its QP , for me i play torb with one hand and in the other hand i

We all know snipers are being over played right now… they gonna get nerfs and they doing it to them selves. this game is not even fun right now with ever match haveing 4 snipers.

Quickplay is so plagued by snipers, so at this point I’d wish blizzard would make arcade variant of quickplay, which is pretty much the same as normal qp, but no snipers allowed.

Would be nice to enjoy fights without getting constantly killed by random arrow or Widow sitting in the distance.

Yeah that’s very possible right now, Ana is pretty strong on the damage front and silent to.

Its hard since they are 2 and its qp.
I one trick widow in qp alot and i can tell you that the moment you lock widow someone will pick hanzo trin to make the other snoper swap but in the end no one swaps and team ends in 5 dps and brigitte.

A one-trick widow will most likely be very good, and a very good widow carries any QP.

Yeah its easy af to carry with 6 dps when the other team is 2 2 2. Since you know one guy picked widow then a 2n guy saes that and picks hanzo. So when widow and hanzo are the 1st 2 picks gl not having 6 dps.

I expect that you’ll be picking something else, since you’ve identified a problem here? And honestly, it’s quite rare that the other team has a proper comp.
