is it just me or does anyone else get annoyed when you’re about to kill someone someone else comes in and takes the kill so can we make so fo example if we do over like 50% or 75% of the damage to someone we get kill credit?
the game mode is trash anyway don’t even bother to play it. People pick broken heroes like moira and brigitte and you cant do anything. But it’s fine right? We are Overwatch team we always listen to our players and we also don’t care about them
But maybe this will make them realize how op those heroes are… Just maybe…
(No I dont count on it… lol)
Nah they know their game is unballanced, but they just simply don’t care. They are happy that they were able to promote the game. And now they’re just sucking every cent possible.
because the game isn’t fit around a deathmatch, doesn’t mean the chars are broken…
that logic is so awfull… you should feel bad even posting it…
and the other guy the same… you idiots don’t know broken if it punched you in the friggin face
Broken heroes like Moira and Brigitte that on a map like Petras can’t do anything in 66% of the area because of high grounds and open spaces and on a map like Giuliard have half a kit you can’t even use to prevent getting oneshotted by a burst DPS…
Great backwards logic there, got any more gems of wisdom to share with us?
I don’t even know how to start because this is so funny. As always I love to check profiles so i see with who im talking and always those who have a big mouth and don’t know what they’re talking about are one trick ponies and besides that you’re a one trick brigitte with 47 % winrate xDDD . In 90% of my games there has been a moira or brigitte( in one game i had 5 moiras), they heal themselves deal damage also they steal a lot of kills with orbs. And yes obviously they dont win every time but they are annoying, and frustrating to deal with. Also I don’t think you have even played 2 deathmatch games to see how unbalanced they are. This deathmatch thing should be only heroes that requires aim to be balanced not 0 aim.
And ignoring this dumb game mode. Next time before giving your opinion please atleast try and play every hero atleast 1h, you have 12 heroes under 1h played time. You barely even know how the game works, but it’s all right there are a lot of people like you incredible opionated but with no knowledge to create valid arguments. If you have anything you want to say I’d gladly respond to you but please inform before you talk.
I actually won my last FFA with Reaper We had a few Gitte’s and no Moira on that one because Petras, like I said, is a map where they are considered worthless. It took just me and a Hanzo to have them switch off Gitte.
Furthermore, I don’t need to look at your profile to make any sound argument. You checking my profile does not make Brigitte’s flail any longer, it doesn’t boost Moira’s DPS and it doesn’t make my argument sound any less valid.
If you lose against Moira’s and Brigitte’s in a mode you don’t like playing, you’re the one who’s at fault here. All your crying and wailing and debating will do you zero good, because you’re still that one guy who got tilted by heroes’ you can hard counter by simply pressing S
My argument trumps your sheerly because I don’t need to assume anything by playing Hector the Profile Inspector and by simply sticking to the cold hard facts.
Next time you give your opinion, please make sure you’re not getting completely destroyed by someone you can render useless by going up a flight of stairs, please
Hah, nice one!
I guess that’s what you get for inspecting profiles to base any of your arguments on, Zoomless; The fact that there’s always someone out there with a better looking profile than you who might disagree
how will this make them realize anything? it is a different mode, with different play styles. if something is op the comp players will use it, zarya hanzo combo, broken as hell, thats why its practically meta. this mode only every shows how heroes will react in a 1v1, witch in any other game mode happens pretty rarely
That’s the way deathmatch works: Only the final blow counts.
Heros with high hits per second (not damage per second) like Moira do have the highest chance of hitting the final blow and thus the biggest advantage in FFA.
The only way to fix that problem to create a point system that doesn’t rely on traits, which differs on each hero.
On this thread, for example, the idea is to count the damage percentage as points. However, that wouldn’t work well, too.
https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/overwatch/t/suggestion-for-deathmatch-changes/1698
Another idea would be to let assist count, too, but the point system still would rely on final blows and thus the problem wouldn’t be solved.
It is just not that easy to find a balanced point system.
That’s where pretty much everyone is at. Even wraxu has only 28.
Terrible “argument”.
And he is right. Moira and brigittes have huge advantages in this mode. Everyone who can selfheal has. Yes, it’s not balanced anyways but still…
Self healing could have an impact, but almost all mobile heros can reach health packs fairly quickly, which balance the self healing out a bit.
Talking about how FFA doesn’t work in hero shooters in Overwatch isn’t nesseccary, since it has been explained on other threads many times, here is one explanation:
https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/overwatch/t/unfun-no-skill-heros-abilities-in-competitive-deathmatch/1525/13?u=fatbludragon-2951
The only thing we can do to make a “fairer” FFA is to find out a point system that works well.
A little bit is not equal fully. You still have the advantage in a fight because you can selfheal and someone else can’t and makes a run for a healthpack that someone maybe stole or you run into someone and die etc.
Long story short. The game is already an unbalanced mess but FFS is even worse. Like ten fold.
Pss boi it seems like those 800 levels didn’t help you to figure out how to switch from qp to competitive right? Those are the quickplay play time also i think you might wanna visit a doctor since you jumped from widow straight to genji. Also I know my hanzo aim is bad, but if you say that my aim is trash i wouldn’t be able to have 41% with mccree right? I bet you didnt see that either. Also I reached 2.9k back in season 5 or something when i was playing consistently, not bad for a moba player huh? Don’t worry about my aim recently since i started playing again i am way better even making around 50-54% on mccree and around 40-50 with others, except hanzo.
If we talk about general combat, then it is completely OK.
Self-heal is just one advantage of the specific hero. Others have increased mobility (Tracer), increased range (Widowmaker), increased health (Reinhardt), or versatility (Soldier 76, Brigitte).
That is the nature of an asymmetrical hero roster. Each hero has their own advantage and disadvantage, making them natural counters to other heroes.
However, this makes balancing heroes extremely difficult.
If you’re interested, Extra Credits made a video about asymmetrical Character design:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEpeGSFQ1tM
And due to the asymmetrical hero roster, a fair FFA is impossible in overwatch. It would be only possible if everyone is forced to play the same hero.
You can’t just put a sprint or so equal to a self heal.
Soldier’ sprint doesn’t help him at all against a selfhealer. His heal helps him way more.
Tracers blink is better but still not a huge advantage. Only if you have dafrans aim.
Rein makes literally zero sense to play in FFA, infact all tanks are bad in FFA. Only road would make sense and why? Right, because of the selfheal.
Exactly. The only way to balance this mode.
(technically speaking) It is easy how to deal with self-healing heroes and I’m talking about general combat, not FFA specifically:
Lucio heals slowly over time. However, as a drawback, he doesn’t have his speed boost. That makes him an easier target.
Mercy heals 1 second after getting hit. Dealing constant damage prevents her from healing. The same applies to heroes with shield HP (Zenyatta, Symmetra, Zarya)
Moira and Reaper drain health while attacking and Brigitte gets passive healing when dealing damage. Mobile and long-range Heroes can deal with them without getting hit.
Ana and Soldier can heal themselves with their abilities. Keeping track on their cooldown will give you a great advantage.
Bastion and Roadhog can only heal itself when he stops shooting, that makes it vulnerable.
I am not saying that other heroes’ abilities like sprinting or stunning are equally challenging as self-healing. What I am saying is that self-healing, like any other ability, is an obstacle that can be overcome. You just have to know how.
And if you are confused, why I’m talking about general combat and asymmetrical character design, I simply replied to your argument that…
the overwatch team isn’t as big of a team as you think when they work on something big such as a map or a hero they have almost the whole team focusing on it but its true that balancing is a big part of the game but as jeff said they don’t want to nerf brigette or moira to the ground so they are being careful with nerfs,a day will come where both of them are balanced
I don’t think that should be an excuse since blizzard is one if not the biggest gaming company. And even if it is the case, let’s say they can’t find people that meet the requirements for the job, the current people are doing a trash job. But I don’t think they have a small team since even if we have a new hero every 6-8 months the fact that every time they release one it is either trash or either too broken. Personally I don’t understand why they’re releasing new heroes when the original ones are still bugged (Reinhardt is the worst). I know it is not an easy job to balance the game especially the numbers, but the most of these buffs/nerfs are aimed toward the wrong heroes, also some buffs are for casual players, some are for OWL, make up your mind blizzard. Even brigitte was a hero made especially for OWL and it was supposed to be situational, and yes it is almost perfect, but for competitive/quickplay… it is a disaster around 40-50% of the recent posts are about brigitte. Isn’t it funny how the hero classified as support is being played mostly by the dps player or the flex one but never by the healer player? Also they should stop adding more shields into the game this is getting annoying and hit scanners will become useless at some point if they keep adding shields, oh btw the symm update will include a shield XDD
