Good to see the “I’ve been banned for no reason posts” dismissed here.
Just need to get rid of people persistently making false accusations about cheating (especially when it’s so easy to prove they are cheating themselves)

Continue to do what they’ve always done, which is fine.
Certain people like you’ve mentioned just cry wolf and over exaggerate for attention.
A bit redundant as communication. I mean, I think that today the problem is not the effectiveness of the ban… but the process that must be followed to notice any unjust bans, which is often too automated or throws you back into the FAQ of the site. People who are afraid to use the microphone today are a big problem for a teamgame.
happy that there are bans, obviously. but I always remain quite doubtful about how the automation of certain things is managed that scare even from saying “gg”, sometimes. 
Obviously I’m talking about the “toxicity” issue, but hacking is a whole different story. 
Don’t worry: he’s blocked so many people “for trolling” that he’s probably only talking to himself when he posts something. 
not that this official communication on his personal battle against “cheaterwatch” is the equivalent of a good therapist on his relationship with ow2, anyway…

Their paragraph about stopping cheaters said nothing at all.
800k accounts banned? That means 800k accounts created.
Working on techs to detect cheaters? Would be surprising if they aren’t doing it. Cheats evolve so anti cheats should too.

There are people in the us forums admiting to be cheaters and nothing is done.
That is your assumption. Might be 2m accounts created. Might 20 accounts. Irrelevant either way.
Shows they are banning cheaters (something certain people tried to claim isn’t happening), and gave a little insight into what they are doing.
They would be stupid to spell out exactly what they are doing. Tipping creators and users off would be a bad move.
I am on the us forums, think I have seen 1 person claim this. There was no proof given so most likely just a kid trolling looking to annoy people.

I guess game is bleeding too hard so finally they decided to take action against cheaters. 9 years late but progress is progress… I guess…
They are just doing what they’ve always been doing. Only difference is now someone’s written that in a blog (something they did a while back too).
Gave it a try yesterday to OW. 2nd match there was an Hanzo with the nickname “Aimbot”, literally rage hacking, he did’t even tried to hide their wallhacks/aimbot.
4 mins in New Junk City was enough to to have 30/1 k/d. Dude was already endorsement level 2.
What a joke of game, they have the worst AC in the market and have the audacy of doing cheap annouces like this one. Shame on you Blizz.

When you get over being titled and think about it. You don’t know what their anti cheat is. So claiming it’s the worse seems illogical.
You might be right, but it would be coincidental rather than through knowledge.
Pretty sure that was a new account. That cheater played enough to gain a endorsement level without getting banned. Not only he could workaround Blizzard useless anti cheat, but he was also rewarded by Blizzard.

That’s a very old article. And really just shows that it and Fortnite had a lot more players over all than other games.
And he numbers are based on people searching YouTube for videos and Google searches. So not really indicative of much.

I don’t get why you need to. If you don’t like the game, or what they are doing. Play something else. No need to fish for reasons and excuses in odd things.
A few months ago, might be close to a year now idk, when I was still pretty new to the game and was REALLY bad (OW is my 1st fps) and was in low bronze there was a guy literally named “THROWING” who would, you guessed it, go afk all game and type weird trolly harassing stuff in chat the whole time (now that I think about it, they might’ve been ximming too because they typed fast). They were a Smurf on top of that too because they’d randomly decide to spawn camp sometimes. Got them in several games and would report them each time and tell the others to block and report at the start and end of each game
Took them MONTHS to get banned
I have absolutely no faith in the report system which is a main reason for why I don’t like to do ranked anymore
Only 2 reports of mine have been successful: The guy I just mentioned and someone else who was typing the general Kay why ess, “get cancer”, “your parents don’t love you”, slurs, etc after losing a game (again, might’ve been ximming too because they typed fast and were also playing Widow/Ashe)
I report each person who types something like kay why ess, purposely throws or is using obvious cheats.
1 time my DPS were saying that a DVA is cheating, thought they were just coping (we were getting rolled). But then I got killed by them, paid attention, and saw that their crosshair wasn’t even on me and they were getting a crit each time
Then during the potg, they were chasing a soldier and their crosshair was NO WHERE NEAR them and they were getting a crit each time. I mean like, soldier was barely on the screen
Anyway, I never got any confirmation that the DVA was banned, and that was the most obvious cheating you’ll ever see. Never got any confirmation that any of the ppl I reported were banned either, apart from 2
The team in charge of bans are an absolute joke considering that the players make and break the experience of this game

Fix server crash exploit, please. Do you have server logs? Cant you identify events which led moments before the server crash? This is getting annoying.
