Stop backfilling me at the last 10 seconds of a match in qp. I am bored and sick of listening to the defeat line when i didn’t even had the chance of avoiding it. Because it’s qp it doesn’t mean we will brake like EVERY rule of the game “for fun”
Because losing when you haven’t even had the oportunity to try not to lose isn’t fun.
Spend 2 mins from counting your money to set a timer so it doesn’t backfill people after 1 minuter remaining. Pls. You will do a lot of good.
blame the scumbags who leave games… they are still loosers even if they run away… more so in fact.
Also it’s incredibly hard to call a failing game or not… some times you can pull of a desperate last stand.
the people who had the useless leaver on their team still deserve a fair shot at it…
I really think blizzard needs to implement some kind of mechanic to shower backfill with glory special achivments maybe sprays or special rare endorsment types you cant get any other way… some form or recognition…
like if you pull of a last minute defence you should get some super rare special potg you cant get any other way or something like that…
that sort of thing would make it more desirable to backfill…
then again if they do that there is a risk people will leave more… so maybe that is a bad idea…
this reminds me of a behavioural experiment where day care centeres introduced a late pickup fee to try to reduce late pickups… only to then have the late pickups increase since people started seeing it as more of a service they paid for… which was never the point…
So its not easy to tell what is the best way of solving the problem… but i think positive reinforcement along with harsher punishments for leavers may help…
then again its hard to tell if someone left or crashed… so that not easy to punish…

There is no need to do anything of that. Neither make a system that recognises the losing team nor give special achievements. Just make a code that says that if the match time remaining is 1 min or less that no player in q can join this match.
I don’t care about leavers because they are, as you said, losers and crybabies. They haven’t experienced a cluch save at the end because they don’t stay till the end. If I ever leave a match at it’s start it will be because i saw all 10lvl bronze portraits on the other team playing snipers. AKA smurfs. And i want to plat cree.
that does not work there is no way of telling when a game has 1 minute left…
In mayhem i once extended overtime for half a hour… (pretty good at Winston) naturally you cant quite get it that extreme in the regular game but it can easily go past 1 minute.
I think he means 1 minute of game time not including overtime… so like 1 minute of the payload map left… or the last tick of a capture point
This has absoultely nothing to do with the leavers. This is not the issue here. Heck i leave games at the end when i feel like it’s not worth wasting 30seconds just to lose.
The issue is the backfill at those times, when i leave a game that is clearly lost on overtime then it’s so frustrating for the next person that gets put in just to have the defeat pop up.
The suggestion is just to remover backfill when there is one minute left or if it’s on overtime.
Yesterday i did a game, escort map defence, got put in on backfill as someone had given up and left when the enemy team got the payload to the last checkpoint. But after i joined we managed to stall them back and win the game.
So backfill does work but only when there actually is a chance to play.
so your a looser and a quitter i.e your trash.
finish your bloody match and stop griping about backfill!
Frankly i think leavers should be forced to back fill more if anything until they learn to finish their damned games!

This thing you do that you leave at the 30 seconds is bad. I had uncountable games were we managed to win a game in overtime and what you are doing (no toxic btw) is wasting the last opportunity your team had to win the game.
I am not trash talking i am calm and trying to give you an advice.

You can not expect from 40 million people who play overwatch to stay untill the end of every game. Some of them are stupid. We can not do anything. What we can do thought is what i said. If a match has less that a minute left or it’s in overtime, backfill is locked for every slot.
We can not force people to rejoin qp matches because at the end o’ the day it’s just qp.
Also leavers get their penalties by default. Even if it’s 50 sr from comp, not getting the qp exp or the leaver penalty for several matches.
So calm down and be more flexible. Don’t expect that much from the ow comunity.
Expecting people to finish what they start is not expecting too much by any measure.
This is a matter of basic respect towards others…
People who leave are simply human garbage… it’s that simple!
People who leave and then nag about the back fill caused by them and other like them leaving are shiz-no! (term from Red vs blue)
I can feel nothing but absolute moral disgust towards such loathsome people!
I imagine a system being implemented where you don’t get backfillers when the timer reaches a minute left and people leave the game. Person A leaves and doesn’t get replaced? Then person B is gone too, followed by C and D. Maybe E anf F start having an emote party, but there’s a bigger chance not a single QP match will last until the end anymore.

but
this is overwatch
an environment wre people get reported and banned because they like a certain hero
an environment with people that can not wipe their ass if blizzard does’t buff the toilet paper
an environment where the only valid arguements are “youre trash” “i’m carrying so you switch”
so… you can not expect people to do stuff like that
you must accept those behaviours and live through it like it’s normal

this behavior is unacceptable! unless you have a valid excuse not related to how the fight is going like if your a parent with a baby that screaming its head of or something or if your house is burning or if your a kid with one of those moms who literally will pull the power plug out of the PC (which can damage it)
Those are valid reasons to quit…
but if your quitting because you hate seeing the defeat screen then uninstall overwatch and never return this game!

Im kinda agreeing with Confusiarch, at least the part that leaving is just bad.
Im not the nicest gamer girl out there and I am sometimes a bit toxic but I never got the idea of leaving a match in the last minute. Its honestly the most stupid idea ever cause

I am just saying that this is Overwatch and we must accept this kind of behavior just because this is the only thing we get. WE CAN NOT ASK FOR SOMETHING BETTER!
You can not ask people to not leave when things don’t go their way when they can not wipe their ass without blizzard buffing the toilet paper.
My point here is that your wrong to accept this behavior… it may be the reality of human behavior but it should never be accepted.
If you don’t hold people to any kind of ideal standard of behavior then how can they ever improve? you cant just shrug your shoulders and ignore it. then you risk a shift in what is seen as ok behavior… if anything you should have as higher moral expectations just to compensate.
Simply implement harsher penalties to those who leave, as they are rather lax in QP. Irrespective if this is meant a “Fun / Play” mode, leaving cause you can’t take a loss or you don’t want to wait those 30 seconds is just the same as leaving your team in the lurch in a ranked game.
I doubt anything will change as all the focus of this game is Ranked or OWL, so QP is a low priority.
