Did they add duplicates in the lootboxes?

have been playing for 2 years and never go a duplicate in my boxes, yet, yesterday, i found a duplicate ana skin worth 15 credits. did they add this feature back or was it ever removed?

what? how have you never had a duplicate? i get probably 80% of my boxes as duplicates because I have all the grey and blue level stuff and most of everything else

credits are just free credits, duplicates are they’re own thing

so…in TWO YEARS i never got a SINGLE duplicate? jeez, no wonder i’m getting them now, it’s the lootbox karma catching on XD

Actually it’s a probability thing. You can only get duplicates for an item once you have every item in that color category (i.e. every common). This is why when a new hero comes out you tend to get only stuff for them if you’re a high level and have had the game for a long time.

What’s going on is that you are just finally getting all the lower end skins so whenever you don’t get a purple or gold, you get dupes.

gotcha. i did buy a lot of crappy skins because i was missing like one or two of every hero. still, i was surprised, i thought the credits pile was for duplicates XD
still, it’s a good thing, i’m not that “rich” (only 2800 credits) and i want to save for any moira skin i can get my hands on :stuck_out_tongue:

The best thing you can do to be ready for events is to do the following :

  1. Save your lootboxes. New heroes tend to come out right before major events, so if you have a lot of default lootboxes saved up, you can get all the new heroes’ crap skins and other stuff out of the way.

  2. Play in groups when you play QP. It gives you a sizeable XP boost.

oh, i play mostly arcade for the 3 boxes, i don’t have a group of friends that play overwatch (i tried to bring in a friend of mine when the game was at a discount but he always did the “yeah yeah, i’ll get it in a few days” and then never did -_- ) i do have some “firends” but those are the players that send you a request after a game and then never show themselves afterwards XD

Well… This is very logic. There’s a finite amount of items and skins you can get. The more you already have got, the more likely you are to get a duplicate. I have all items and skins, so all I get is duplicates. Working as intended. You can’t get something new if you already have it.

Actually no dude. You can’t get new added stuff in old saved loot boxes. The content of the box is not generated when it’s opened, it’s generated when you get the box.

Yes, that’s why saving them for events is good. If what you say is true, you essentially have a bunch of credits waiting for you in the form of unopened boxes.
