Basically, every other game I’m disconnected. Whether that be just being kicked straight to sign-in or sent back to the ‘now travelling to’ screen to only be kicked fully out like 20 seconds later.
It’s been happening for like three days, and I’ve done everything suggested by Blizzard.
My internet isn’t the problem and it’s not that my PC can’t handle Overwatch. It’s server side.
Also, a few other people have reported the exact same thing whether that be in game or irl. I really hope this is fixed soon, because until then I can’t play comp, and even then getting repeatedly kicked from quick play games is super annoying.
I’ve reported this issue before, for some reason although I’m connected to the internet, BattleNet just spazzes out and can’t connect.
The way blizzard have designed the game is that if the BattleNet client disconnects, as does the Overwatch game even if you’re in a match. Poor design if you ask me, Valve does not do this while player CS/Dota, but then again, many things Blizzard are doing are poor/lazy/idle - for instance, their investment in time on the Technical Forums.
The annoying thing is, although I’m fully connected to the internet, I get a ban in competitive due to fault Blizzard development.
Hopefully one day they’ll review these issues, all we can do is keep reporting it.
I’m sure the microsoft merge will help with at least this if nothing else, as steam games don’t disconnect you if steam itself disconnects
Depends on how they design the integration, R6 for instance needs to use Uplay client (whatever they call it). Knowing Blizzard, they’ll force the use of the game using their shoddy client.
Ubisoft isn’t bought by microsoft though (unless i’ve missed something horribly)
Steam isn’t microsoft either, so it depends on how they’re looking to integrate it.
Hopefully when they finally start integrating the suite of games into their library they’ll just get rid of the need to BattleNet. It’s such a terrible idea to stop a game from working if the client has “disconnected”.
I thought it might be my install with Battle.Net. But no. I get the same issues now that the game is installed via Steam.
Seriously, how can one play the game if disconnects that are not our fault result in having a leaver status?
This happens to me frequently, every few games too. Sometimes in queue (which is lucky), sometimes while in match.
It’s not funny. I’ve surveyed friends, surveyed other players - lots of people get this.
