Discussions about potential new maps

Hello !
I am a huge fan of OW, especially the maps. I love the way Blizzard mix the past and the future, and allow us to visit, in a way, these locations.

What would be the maps you would love to see added in the game ? What countries or archetypes ?

Personally, I like to imagie a control point map for Switzerland, set in 3 locations : a village with a central plaza as the control point, an hospital, and, why not, the destroyed overwatch HQ.

Another interesting location would be, for me, a mine as a payload map.

And of course, theres all the heroes or group of heroes that on yet have a map for them.

A Talon facility would be great, and if we take a look at the Numbani Airport, we can see some interesting things, such as Cork as a destination. I think it could be an interesting location for Moira, rather than Dublin for example.

When I see Sigma, I like to imagine he is born in a rather humble place, so I would love to see the dutch village where he is born.

And finally, there are countries where I would love to see maps even if they dont have yet a hero that goes along with : Poland, Spain, Argentina, Mongolia, Singapour (for this one, an arcade map set on top of a roof of a massive building could be great in my opinion), South Africa, and way more !

Maybe a facility built on a beautiful coastal bay in Thailand. Crystal clear water, white sands, palm trees. I imagine an under water section where you’re in glass tubes like in Subnautica with colourful fish and whatnot swimming about outside.

You could throw in some stuff about conservation of the planet or whatever. Mei would like that. Maybe she could team up with Tara to save the planet from… er… I dunno, evil corporations controlled by corrupt governments that want to destroy the wild life to build nuclear reactors.

and yeah, I would love an underwater map, but at the same time, i’m a bit scared it’ll just be a Horizon 2.0 in the way it looks
but if they ever do that, I’ll still be confident about OW team to make us a beautiful and original map.

Ya, I’d only have that be a small part of it though, like the final third. I’d want to structure it like London (the best map in the game imo), where the city street section could be outside on a beautiful coastal area with cliff vantage points, and then you get to the under water facility.

I would like to see a lot of the map be natural, which is contrasted against most of our current maps which are all very man made / cities / artificial.

Interesting ! and yeah, outside of (kinda) Eichenwalde, there isnt much about that.
Personally, I love all the maps that have this traditional and futuristic look, such as Paris, Rialto or London

We need an Ireland map

And i agree - London is the best map in the game, but if we structured every new map the same way, people would notice and it would be boring. Instead, look at the features that make London great, and incorporate them at different points of the map.

I would like to see:

A desert camp map

Ireland with hilly countryside

Rural Canada (this would pair up well with the Canada city map that’s already being designed)

A coastal Indonesian island (like previously mentioned)

An arctic version of Ecopoint (just larger and more interesting)

A talon base
