Dissapointing Competitive Experience after winning 9 matches in placements

Hello i am really upset with my placements this season.
I played good you can see my stats and i finished the placements 9 wins 1 lose
I was playing with one of my buddies and he is on plat and i am low gold
I dont know what is wrong with my placements . the half of the placements i made i had the best stats
i know that my rank depends on previous season rank but i assure you last season i lose 7 games and win two games only and one draw and the placements placed me aproximatly in the same rank.
PLEASE I AM SO UPSET LOOK INTO THIS
i put so much effort to get this placements… i dont want to feel that its a waste of time

Placements are sorta pointless as you always place around the same place you ended last season.

Placements are just normal matches with your SR hidden.

This is just normal, lose most of the game placement or win do not rly matter. It will always go up or down max 150SR from your last season. At least thats how it works for me and I guess it’s the same for all.

The 2 most important numbers to determine your new SR? Your old SR and your MMR. Your old SR will be slightly adjusted to more closely fit your MMR, and in order to mask that adjustment, the first 10 games are done blindly. They aren’t placements, just blind games. They don’t have a higher influence on your SR than other games - it may seem like it (if your SR gets adjusted upwards and you win a lot or if your SR gets adjusted downwards and you lose a lot), but the common consensus is that that’s they way of it.

You always end up around where you were before, the SR system is a very elaborate joke.

Well unfortunately placements ARE a waste of time currently, as you will get placed pretty much where you ended last season.

As someone who has left and come back to do placements maybe 3-4 times over the whatever seasons (15?). I got to diamond the first time I did comp and have come back a few times to get golden gun and found basically my rank didn’t change despite my ability definitely changing. I stayed around 3k. I also found when I did a lot of QP but only placements I er gained quite a bit of ranking (I went to 3400 I think it was only doing placements). That was over a year ago though.

Seems to me placements basically do not matter. You can go 0-10 and you’ll probably end up just below your previous SR.

I’d actually like some kind of MMR decay so I could play on this account again cos everyone is so toxic I just cant be arsed.
