i came back late into season 26 and have been playing season 27 up until today. i just uninstalled it after a chat with a random in game. he said his alt acc is high diamond and he waits 8+ minutes for a game so he set up an alt account.
so thats what alot of high tier players are doing. setting up alt accounts because they just want to play and not wait more than 5 or 8 minutes for a game.
My group of 5 + gamer friends were big ow players. they now play warzone, pubg etc. the reason they moved was the game became stale. and the same problems kept happening. throwers, disconnectors and smurfs… I know thats their opinion on it. i agree somewhat. i myself got chat bans for flaming at throwers that just sit in spawn or pick a character they are new to.
i tried to find max concurrent players on ow to justify me staying around and playing it. but since the start of season 27 i cant climb as well as i could and i keep meeting the same players. we just win or lose and remain stagnant.
so speaking to this guy in my last ow game sealed the deal for me. i guess ill wait for ow 2 and hope a large player base returns.
