this is my first post here and i dont even know if i should write this.
I am a guy who never played shooter games thats why i only play support ( also because i like it ).
My SR is 2300 at the moment - i started this season on 1998.
Ofc i try my best in every game and im pretty happy with my 60% winrate on lucio and mercy. Also i use voicechat the whole time, even when my team doesnt like to talk.
But the last few games were pure torture because of 3 leavers in my team in 4 games - Ofc i lost the games with the 3 leavers. That means i lost 70 - 80 SR just because someone decided he doesnt want to play or had to go in the middle of the game.
This just feels wrong to me. I didnt do anything wrong, try to communicate and do my best and i get punished in the most frustrating way.
Btw i wouldnt write this if it was just today - but there are so many leavers in competitive games - at least on gold - i dont know if i want to continue playing this sh*tshow, even though i rly like the game - the leaver punishment system just feels wrong to me.
While blizzard can hardly do anything against the Leaver’s problem without making the change exploitable, unfair or right out broken, you yourself can do something to prevent having so many leavers:
Everyone knows about the LFG feature but only a few people realize how much it makes your experience a lot better. First of all, when you solo queue or play in a small group, you randomly get players who might or might not cooperate well. Using the LFG, that chance of non-cooperative players diminishes a lot. You still have a chance to have stubborn teammates but that is rather small, compared to the random selection by the MM.
You can use it to find a full group with a similar mentality with you and when you really like to play with a group member, you can add them as a friend. Sooner or later, your friends list grows and you have a lot of cool players with whom you have a good time playing.
Actually 2 of those 3 leavers were people i found in the group finder tool…
Ofc i also met a lot of great people the last few weeks, but there are quite often leavers - even with the group finder tool : /
Sometimes you have luck, sometimes you have bad luck. The chance of finding a leaver with the LFG is not 0% but at least smaller when playing without it. That chance is even smaller when you filter the groups by their endorsement lvl, since frequent leavers tend to stay at a low endorsement lvl due to the decay.
LFG is still better than solo queue. That’s the only thing I can say.

Toxic and misbehaving people also get reported a lot and have low endorsement levels. If you play regularly and behave well then reaching level 3 is quite easy. I recommend filtering for level 3. Level 4 is more difficult to reach and there would be a much smaller player pool available.
3 games in short succession is rather unusual and unlucky. But it happens. Try not to think about it and move on.
