Doomfist/Hanzo/Widow Discussion: Which is worse?

This isn’t a post where I’m calling out any character, in all honesty… yes I hate Widowmaker, but I’m interested in other peoples opinions on the matter.

I’ve been thinking about the worst one shots in the game, now I know what you might be thinking, “Any one shot in the game is unfair”.

I also want to say I have played all of these characters a lot. I have around 60 hours on total with Widowmaker, around 90 hours on Doomfist altogether and 70 hours on Hanzo, this is my second account, (I’m not classing this account smurfing since this is played 2900 and my main is only 3300). I’m not trying to say I’m good at these characters but I do decent with them.

Which one would you consider the worst or the most annoying.

Doomfists one shot is every 4 seconds, requires less aim but 10x more risk than Widow or Hanzo. Isn’t a guaranteed one shot unless wall impact and even then if Jeff doesn’t give the Doom the almighty slide bug. Doomfists CC can be very annoying although can be developed to have insane momentum and movement, I consider this one of his biggest skill ramps.
He can be countered by the following (off the top of my head):

  • Ana Sleep
  • McCree Flashbang
  • Hog+Orisa halt/hook combo
  • Sombra hack
  • Orisa fortification (denying all of his kit except hand cannon)
  • Brigitte Shield Bash

Hanzo’s one shot is around every one second, requires more aim and a little bit of prediction with the projectile. A lot of Hanzo’s do spam and get lucky one shots (this is when he annoys me)
Hanzo Counters/contesting heroes:

  • Winston
  • DVA(rip)
  • Genji
  • Machine Gun Cree
  • Widowmaker (duels could happen both ways)

Widow’s one shot requires mostly just aim with some prediction but is mostly just reaction based aim. She’s usually In the backlines, meaning she can one shot squishy characters if they aren’t behind cover. I consider Widow as one of the least risky characters when played. UNLESS the enemy team has a Hanzo or Widow themselves (which is mainly her problem for me).
Widow Counters:

  • Winston
  • DVA
  • Genji
  • Tracer
  • Hanzo (again with duelling)

Now onto my opinion, for me its Widowmaker. She may have a lot of counters, but if theres a good Widow she can deal with any of her counters. Whereas heroes like Doomfist feel very situational. If they have a Sombra, McCree or any other counters there is little to no room for Doomfist to counter-play. With Hanzo his oneshots feel mostly annoying when its just spam through a group of enemies.

This is my opinion, but I’m not trying to prove anything here. I just want to hear other peoples perspectives on the matter

Whilst they’re annoying I don’t mind Widows and Doomfist all that much but I don’t like how Hanzo can one shot

From my perspective I would say first is Widow, because game changes drastically if there is one.
Second would be Hanzo, being killed from out of nowhere is not pleasant or while he uses wall hack.
I like playing against Doomfist, be it as a Tank or Support, he brings different dynamic to the game and it’s not easy to play as Doom, he takes a good cooldown management and map awareness, more than some of the heroes imo.

hint if you fire of charged up burst shoot on zynyata ( you know the alt fire thingy) duck as you do… zynyatas animation already has him dipping down so if you crouch as well then you can really throw of a widows shoot if she is going for a head shoot…

That’s true, thx for the tip, kinda forgot about that. I wish I had more opportunity to play as Zen, mostly it’s just Tanks that I pick because nobody want’s to play them and I want to help my team.

I play a lot of tank and and support myself but lately i’ve gone from mercy to widow main lol. (i have 100h on both now… i am actually working on making my career profile go support dps tank and repeat all the way down…)

I started with Mercy and D.Va, then switched after 60-70 hours on both to Orisa and Moira.
I still play Orisa everytime I login, but stopped playing Moira altogether, I find Zen, Lucio and lately Ana better to play, more rewarding and I can help my team more that way.

Interesting project you got there with career profile, mine has right now only Tanks and Supports, with time I’ll add some DPS, but still not sure which one to pick.
Besides, not a single game I played had a shortage of DPS picks :slight_smile: , so I pick Tank or Supp.

I saw other Mercy players also kinda switch to Widow, its nice pick for you if you enjoy your game time, good Widow can make life hard for any enemy team.

Not gonna lie I have a genuine hate of Widowmaker, she’s so unfun to play against, a one shot ability with so little counters is annoying.

Doom and Hanzo are not as problematic for me. Yes they can one shot too but Hanzo is easy to kill and Doom is very avoidable (saying that from a lucio player’s perspective).

Widow - Hitscan so can just click you off the map

Hanzo - Kills people by mistake

Doomfist - Whilst he has counters, everyone has experienced walking round a corner and getting punched to Africa by his metal fist

dont worry if you get punshed to Africa then your not going to hitt a wall so not max damage… :stuck_out_tongue:

Doomfist - every sound he makes when punching something, sounds like he’s having a great time with his right hand. It’s distracting.

I honestly don’t mind any of them too much nowadays. At my rank Torbjörn is a decent counter vs them all since he can also spam chokes and can armor himself up to withstand more hits.

they’re all cheating.

hanzo at least is completely random whether he guarantees the team a win unlike widow which always does, and doomfist, although having more health than a tank, can actually take damage unlike the other two. they all do twice the damage of any other dps with half the skill.

I report people who play all three for abusive chat since that’s the easiest thing to get people banned for, but since widow continues to absolutely kill this game and any fun or competitive potential it had, I throw a gameplay sabotage/inactivity on there too since that’s the second easiest.

Everyone in my discord does too. Glad to get quite a few "thank you for reporting"s.

I understand your dislike for all three heroes, but what you’re doing is false reporting.
