DPS as healers in flex queue

Game slightly ruined, I play tank most games and since flex queues the healers, with names like “Pewpewpew” etc are healers and just not healing, eg they pick Ana and just dps snipe, pick Zen and just play Dps, this is getting very frustrating if you play tanks as the only option is to play Hog and he doesn’t work in all situations, Blizzard really must do something like “no passes for flex queue if you lose” which should stop Dps from throwing matches just to get 2 passes or even better might actually get them to heal so they try and win, even better they wont flex queue. There has been a total degredation of healing since flex queue started ----- change my mind (you won’t)

If you think they sre sabotaging the game, just report them.

Them not being as good as you’d hope is not necessarily anything bad.

i don’t think it’s that often people get support when they flex that it actually becomes a problem because most of them actually gets automatically put on tanks, which sure becomes a different problem but it’ll get better with time and some epiphanys that needs to happen.

So when you have a Ana healer and you need healing and you make a point of standing right in front of them and they still snipe dps and dont heal, is that sabotage or lack of knowledge ? There is no point in reporting them, Blizzrd need to put in place " no passes for a lose"

Bit of both. If you don’t like what they do the report and avoid systems are there for you.

One pass is already a crappy return of time invested. It takes you longer to queue and play a flex game than the time you save by using one ticket.

Losing already feels bad, but not even getting anything out of it will make a lot of flex players stop flexing altogether.

For example, I dislike playing tanks in the current state as you just get melted, but flex from time to time to allow other players to play DPS (since when I want to DPS, I also need players tanking). If there was a risk of me not even getting a prio pass out of it, I wouldn’t bother at all; increasing queue times for all DPS (with or without ticket).

I think the system is fine atm.

We need more people trying other roles, if they suck and cost games so be it. People will only find out if they enjoy the role, or get better at it by trying and playing it.

Blizz said that people throwing in flex q will be punished extra quick so you know what to do, get those gameplay sabotage reports in. I’ve had around 10 thanks for reporting screens already this season.

I think this pass system is a joke. I’ve found it’s often times radically increased my q times for support so that I now need to use passes to just play support. When I try to use passes for dps the q times aren’t shorter at all. When the game first came out I used to flex a lot and actually enjoy tanking but now I just stick to support - dps just takes to long and now the support q is getting ruined as well.

On top of that I actually had to report an dps main the other day playing Lucio. upon reviewing the game it gave me no backup help with the healing, wasn’t attacking it just hung back well behind the the team doing nothing, jumping off the edge and remained on speed burst. When I checked his profile it was a platt hanzo / ball player in open q. I don’t know if an competitive pass in regular comp works over there but it sure seemed like it just wanted the game to finish quickly and we certainly didn’t make the first checkpoint.

This whole so called dps q problem isn’t the problem, it’s the symptom and until they stop with the band aid fixes and realize that trying to force the game to resemble traditional fps shooters with an focus on quick time to kill for dps and nerfing not only power, kit but also identity from the tanks and healers its not going to go away.

There are people who want to play tanks and healers but if you keep giving new dps characters more variety and better utility on top of sustain / get out of jail free buttons and buffed damage obviously the op role will look more appealing. That on top of the larger pool of heros to pick from. Then they give a lame excuse like it’s because their is mot enough re enforcement when healers or tanks do something good to encourage them, well Mercy’s on fire is still broken there’s a good start. But seriously if you keep stripping tank and support character identity’s dps will look more appealing.

Well, it hasn’t has it

it hasn’t which is why the big shift in OW2 is happening.
who knew it was hard to use teamwork with strangers :man_shrugging:
