to put it short, it sucks.
the longer version of that would be:
The Post Match Progression Screen still has those redundant “You completed a Daily-Challenge”-Cards (just display the Daily-Challange Progression in the Top-Right Corner, how it was in… Season 9?)
(Zenyatta’s) Jade Weapon still don’t get displayed on the Progression Screen
Victories in Clash won’t Progress the Victory Progression
Mauga’s Charge Animation is sometimes bugged
Clash does feel frustrating even when you win and that’s bad, I rather suggest to bring back Assault / 2CP back to Quick Play, because those maps were good, maybe not competitively well designed BUT Quick Play really benefits from having the biggest map pool in the game (alongside Training, tbh)… also 5v5 Enables hostilities towards tank players and are only steamroll matches, the queue-time argument can be countered with short queue-times with bad (quality) matches against maybe long queue-times with good matches, also OW1 was like 40 bucks and Game of the Year 2016, OW2 is free to play and One of the worst reviewed Games on Steam (truth to be told, those aren’t news but reality)
tl;dr: Clash is worse than 2CP and bring back 6v6.
Most of the problems you’ve listen are things that have ben ongoing well before season 12. The only thing about season 12 you’ve mentioned that makes sense is the clash maps, but they are brand new and its day one of there release, so there will be growing pains. other than that i don’t see why your making season 12 out to be so bad when its been out for a few hours.
Fact is that 6v6 was far more balanced and provided us with actual quality matches compared to this 5v5 counterpicking mess we’ve got now where tanks play mystery heroes vs each other non-stop. That’s not quality that’s bad game design, especially for this game, after they spent so long designing and balancing everything around 6v6.
They’re super one sided. In fact i’d dare say they’re even more one sided now than in s11.
well, those were early impressions and yeah I won my First Match in Season 12, which is a Good thing but the majority of Matches I played just felt bad and that’s concerning to me.
I played my 10 dps placement matches. Either they were stomped or be stomped.
None of them were grindy, none of them felt competitive - although I was (and only play) competitive.
One of the matches was funny because one of the team mates were relaying toilet noises over mic, though going into second half of the match the audio he was playing replayed… so it got abit samey.
I find it odd that people still don’t realise stomping or being stomped is part of the game.
It doesn’t mean it was imbalanced or poor match making… It just means one team picked a better comp, clicked, and had a better strategy.
There was an OWCS game where one team were trapped in spawn for 4 minutes and never moved the cart (funniest c9 to win that too). Stomps happen. It’s what you should be aiming to do.
When you start pushing a payload, you should be push up as far as possible with 1 on cart to get free push and deny your enemy the chance to catch a breath.
Every mode. Once you have objective control, you should be denying them any room to move.
Yeah so I played some Clash Matches now and wow… those are bad!!! Clash feels like a Gimmicky Tie-Breaker Mode for OWL or OWCS who ever greenlit this crap has long forgotten that Games are supposed to be fun.
huh… Mystery Heros without the ult reset… would be an attempt of making a fun game mode or Hacked as they call it coming from those devs… that’s for sure
I seriously wonder how they wanna improve the match quality… I mean Juno is a Fun Hero in a Wasteland of Match Quality
But well… at least Total Mayhem still is fun*!*
yet I noticed also other stuff like:
Victories with Mauga in Total Mayhem (and Clash sometimes?) do not progress his Victory Progression… I know it’s an old bug but it still hasn’t been fixed
They added Speed Booster to the Spawndoors in Flashpoint… as an admition that Flashpoint maps are too big for Overwatch? I mean… I can see Flashpoint Maps as a City Hub in MMOs… not in Overwatch though…
And Hanaoka didn’t could as Flex Queue Match for my dailies… I wonder if that was a one time occurance or a bigger bug…
What people don’t know that stomping or being stomped is part of the game? Can you send me links?
At least in this thread I can see people know all about it, and don’t like it.
It means the matchmaker is broken when the matches are consistently heavily onesided. It was not like this in OW, the game that won awards, the game that had great reviews. This game however… one of the worst rated games.
You are literally meant to take control of the objective, then push aggressively to stomp the life out of your enemy, to starve them of space, to deny them the chance to play the objective.
If you take the objective and stand around waiting for them to come back, you are missing the point.
Of course. Because you don’t understand that stomping matches is part of the game. You are meant to take advantage of players mistakes and snowball games.
That isn’t the match maker. That is good play (sometimes accidentally as you will just make a less impactful mistake and win the fight).
Ofcourse. Because you don’t understand that consistent stomping matches is part of a broken matchmaker. Blizzard are meant to provide fair competitive matches. But it’s okay that you don’t understand
That is the matchmaker to make good matches. Sometimes by great plays/good grind, the teams may draw.
Now. Answer the question to your statement, or is that another lie?
