Endorsement Levels VS Bad Internet

I frequent in Unranked and have been doing really well in most games I play, so I thought maybe I could grind my endorsement level. I reached endorsement level 4 after a bunch of games and JUST ONE disconnect due to an internet hiccup (got three endorsements and endorsed two other players the previous match so yes, just the disconnect) caused my hours of work to go down the drain as if I intentionally left the game. If there’s a way for overwatch to identify an internet disconnect VS someone leaving the game, and implement a three or two disconnect warning, then maybe I wouldn’t hate this game any more than I’m already starting to.

That is not good, it’s rotten but welcome to the club
I have had 5 in endorsment from day 1 of this season, few days ago exactly the same happened to me endorsment went down but without the ban. It said I had abandoned the match. OW is more or less dead, dying slowly. 7/10 matches there are always leavers in 2nd round. Elo hell for life and I have close to 2000 hours, playing with people fresh to competitive don’t understand the game at all. One man army, makes me angry. You are not alone bro. Keep grinding, only way.

Yes leaving games reduces endorsement level.

That includes DCs.

Don’t worry about your endorsement level. It does nothing for you.

At least the higher endorsement level indicates that you’re less likely to abandon a game. Not very helpful as you only see those at the end of a match, but at least you’ll know if you happen to be grouped with someone again in the next match.

And the occational few thousand xp is more important to some than others.

Kinda wish endorsements somehow mattered more. Or were at least somehow visible, perhaps only during a match preparation phase so you know to mentally prepare for either newbies or leavers.

Perhaps the team will eventually either add something to endorsement rewards or rework them into something more exciting.

This is true.

Yeah, they kind of missed the point with them sadly. Having a few loot boxes in the old days was also a bad idea.

I suspect they will get rid of it and replace it with something else eventually. Hopefully that something has some impact, and actually reward good behaviour and work.

The endorsement system is weird. It’s nice receiving them, but I feel you should be rewarded for receiving

My endorsment constantly goes from 1 to 3 and backwards cause of constant air sirens each evening ( i have to leave my pc and go corridor) + me leaving 1 sided matches/stomps
so I don’t even care about it nowadays- it gives nothing

It was a nice idea initially but got abandoned along the way.

I used to have an endorsment 5 account. That account got perma banned within 2 weeks once they implemented automated reporting system in OW1. Got out of one ban, the next one kicked in before I could even play. All I did was make calls in chat, thats why no one is in voice chat these days. Nowadays ppl have egos so large they have their own gravity, dont like to be told what to do.

Finding discord friends is the way to go. I learned the hard way, account with all gold weapons unlocked gone forever, as well as some unique skins. They dont matter anyway, some of the best skins are only epic and gaining purple points is a matter of time.

There are some cool name tags as well, which are worth grinding for; as SmallPackage and Hieiko said you dont see endorsment until end of the game anyway. If you see a bunch in your game its more an indication they were a stack, they can leave group around the end of the game and give endorsment to each other. I hate stacks in this game as they cheat alot of game mechanics, but I digress.
