When playing overwatch 2 from release I haven’t hard crashed once I’ve updated my drivers, scanned the games files, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and lowered my graphics settings in game but it still hard crashes my PC. Once again this has never happened to me before so I don’t know what is going on or how I can fix this if I even can as I have tried everything I can think of. Please help
I’ve never had problems with overwatch but ever since season 10 started I can’t play the game anymore. I already tried all the steps in the automated support reply my drivers are up to date, i scanned the game and i’ve tried reinstalling it
Same thing happening to me…
same nothing works…
Same thing with me, I dont know what to do
I’m having the same issue, I’ve never had this issue before this and nothing is working please let me know if you find something that works for you
I find the game much more unstable since OW2 release. The beta was awful it kept crashing but that’s usual for a beta, but the game tends to blue screen my pc more than OW ever did in 5 or 6 years.
Same, it worked perfectly before
There’s a thread about this on the us forum.
The solution seems to be a thorough updating of graphics drivers.
Hi there,
Thanks for the reports everyone!
The team is aware and investigating.
If you haven’t already, do make sure to work through the steps here:
But if the issue still persists, keep an eye on out for more info and updates as we learn more!
Some more details specifically for anyone with an AMD card:
Please update to the latest driver version using AMD Adrenaline. The latest driver as of 18/04/24 should be 24.3.1 (31.0.24027.1012)
If you are still experiencing crashes after that, try disabling AMD Radeon Boost and let us know if you see any improvements!
Please check out my post on the US forum.
My wife is playing OW on her MacBook Pro.
She uses Windows 10 via Boot Camp.
The problem is, you can’t update Adrenalin in Boot Camp.
You need a version approved by apple.
There is an onofficial way of updating the driver, but the latest Version is Adrenalin October 2023 edition (23.9.3) - driver version 23.20.11.04.
Unfortunately the Boost feature has no effect on the problem when using the old driver.
Disabling AMD boost was working until today where it has started crashing again this time being way more frequent
Have continued to try other fixes I can think of and tried the things suggested here, all to no avail. I have had AMD boost off before this happened, I installed it on steam and uninstalled battle net and nothing changed. I played other games that are intensive on my PC (even upping the graphics to the maximum) and I didn’t experience a crash once. I hope these live maintenance on Friday fixes this issue, as this is the first battle pass I have wanted to buy and I really don’t want to miss out due to an issue that I cannot do anything about
I am in the same boat with my iMac. Lately, I have been having weird crashes since the new season began, and I have heard the latest AMD patch might help. It is odd since the game ran perfectly before. Maybe Overwatch introduced new tech that needs updated drivers. I hope that Blizzard will fix this issue ASAP, otherwise I won’t be able to play the game
It seems that AMD has had another driver update and that hasn’t fixed anything as crashing is still happening
I also have problems with AMD graphics cards and Overwatch and have had them for years. Every time I start the game I have severe stutters in the first 2-4 minutes and my FPS drops, sometimes up to 5 FPS. After a few minutes the game picks up and everything runs perfectly. It wasn’t until the next time I restarted the game that I got this error again for a few minutes. I’ve had this error for years with various AMD graphics cards. 5700XT, 6700XT and my current 7800XT. I wrote to AMD myself about this and they told me that Overwatch is probably simply poorly optimized for AMD graphics cards. In every other game I don’t have these problems.
It doesn’t matter which option you activate or deactivate in the driver, I’ve tried everything for 2 years and never found a solution. I think this is due to Overwatch and not AMD cards, otherwise the game runs perfectly.
I haven’t had a problem with overwatch and my pc has been using an AMD card since I got it, but if this is what has happened to you the most probable cause is that season 10 just really doesn’t gel with AMD and has broken something really bad. This is just really disappointing as I was going to buy this battle pass and some skins but until this gets fixed I cant and probably won’t. Thanks for the insight, as with each person here its glad to know I’m not the only one suffering with this problem.
