Ranked is destroyed. Diamond players from the previous seasons in OW1 landing in bronze 5, with no rank adjustments after multiples sets of 7 wins.
In fact, players of all ranks and skill levels are (seemingly at random) being placed into Bronze 5.
Imagine playing for years, practicing to get better, month after month, year after year improving your game to achieve your desired rating to then have it stripped from you and you put to a lower point in the ranking system than you started at when you first bought the game. It’s laughably unfair.
Here’s a little video explaining the issue further and if you continue to read the comments, it’s apparent that many people are experiencing the same issue.
I haven’t seen any information from Blizzard about anything to do with this. There are limited forum posts.
Blizzard, this issue needs to be addressed to the community ASAP.

Same for me, I complete 7 wins 3 times… and I still bronze 5… I MVP in most games.
Even my statistics do not accumulate, please help!!! I’m losing interest in playing the game.?!?!?!

Just another reason to hold off on playing Competitive for most players, I did my promo games for support and was placed in high silver from low diamond so I’m one of the lucky by the looks of it. Seeing as it might be a bug I’ve withheld myself from playing as a Tank or DPS so far.
I’ve noticed that playing your 7 games doesn’t give a rank update, which is weird. Some more transparency on how/if it gets calculated would most likely help as right now I can’t tell if the way I am playing is affecting my hidden MMR.

5 or 6 times now i tried to rank up but yeah bronze 5 it so annoying for Christ sake Blizzard reported over 1 billion in revenue during the first year of overwatch one so overwatch tow must of made a pretty penny so they shoud have something to fix this

Deranking can happen though if you play subpar to how you normally play.
I had a couple of games where I did less DPS as I normally do and I was instantly put from Plat 5 to gold 3 after the 7-game update. If this is the case then the new ranking system is absolutely mental with how hard it punishes you for a couple of bad games.

Yep, same here. Bronze even when I was gold in OW1. Ranking system is flawed.
Yeah pretty much! Had 5 nice wins in a row, lost a few, then put in Bronze after 2 more wins.
