Fix Competitive

Why is it that my teammate’s average IQ is 80 points lower than mine? You can’t climb on your own. Solo-Q is impossible.

Dear Blizzard,
Please fix comp its broken upon repair and needs serious altering including adding a feature to allow to play with just mic only players in comp and making the teams more balanced as more people throw when they typing their messages for the game. I feel it would fix bronze more that seems the biggest problem for comp and many gamers fix this by teaming up with their amazing buddies with smurf accounts and that is how plats and golds are broken because they filled with new players who got carried with smurf accounts

You realize that the rank you’re at is the same as your “bad teammates” meaning you’re on the same level. You make bad mistakes too.

When will people understand and stop blaming everyone else for their loss?
You might not make the same mistakes but you make mistakes nonetheless.
Until you understand that and work on what you won’t climb

Wait, the average IQ of your teammates is 7?

Disagree here. Yes he/she is probably making mistakes as well but climbing on your own (especially from the lower ranks) is almost impossible. Your relying entirely on the rest of your team to being as invested as you are in winning and sadly most people that play comp just are not bothered. That is an issue.

Like I said , lots of people have climbed in solo Q.
And again, the rest of your team is at your level, you only need to be slightly better than your counterpart in the enemy team.

Play to improve, not to win, and the sr will come naturally

If someone throws the game how is that my fault? It’s not “blaming others”, it’s correctly assessing the weakest link. I won’t climb for the same reason these people won’t sink, the SR system is busted.

Throwers don’t make the majority of your games. And the enemy team is statistically more likely to have throwers than yours is, assuming you’re not a thrower.

You won’t climb because you think you’re good enough to climb, so when you fail, you find a scapegoat, in this case the SR system, in other your teammates.
But the truth is, if you’re not climbing it’s because you’re not good enough to climb. And you will never be if you keep thinking you’re above everyone else, and looking at other people’s mistakes instead of fixing yours.

I guarantee you, if you were to have a vod review right now, there would be major flaws in your gameplay, and you would how whatever happens is partly your fault too.

Actually for me they make up a substantial percentage, and none have been on the opposing team. I understand that it is “statistically unlikely”, but so is winning the lottery and that happens all the time.

I am not trying to climb (I need to get a hotkey for this phrase), I want fair matches with an even chance of winning, where every player on both sides is focused on cooperating to victory. It is not my fault that other people do not share this intention, and there’s nothing I can do about it. The only solution is a change to competitive ranking.

My SR consistently goes down, and the further down it goes the more throwers I find, which sinks it even lower. What can I do about that? There are two options: either the throwers deserve lower ranks (they’ve been boosted) or I and the rest of my teams deserve a higher one. Obviously the correct answer is that they are in the wrong place, not us. The solution is to fix the SR system.

I never claimed to be a grandmaster, just a Plat tired of throwers. It is not my fault that the matchmaker has a grudge against me, and there is nothing I can do to force them to play properly. I can’t avoid them preemptively, and I can’t carry them (if I could then I wouldn’t even belong in my own rank, but a higher one). So the solution is to fix SR.

If you don’t want to listen, I’m not going to waste my time with you, because you’re either lying or the people you say are throwers are simply people that disagree with you and don’t pick what you want them to pick/underperform.

Right, so either I’m deliberately trying to deceive you for some reason, or people are throwing in Overwatch…

Here’s the best example: defence of Hollywood, two-stack players pick Roadhog and Tracer. That’s fine, standard 2-2-2 comp with a Rein, Hanzo, Zen and me on Moira. Game starts, Hog charges through the choke spamming left click, as you’d expect he dies near-instantly. He then screams in chat for heals. Seven seconds later, he comes back, does exactly the same thing, screams for heals. Repeat ad infinitum. He gets told by the Rein to stop, doesn’t listen. We go four rounds and manage to scrape a victory: the Hanzo and Reinhardt combo the enemy team on their final push and destroy them.

That’s not “underperforming”, that’s throwing. We’ve all played the game, we all know these people exist. The matchmaker is random, so necessarily someone is bound to see a dozen of these people in as many games. That’s me. I am not demanding anyone swap heroes (in fact I’ve had nearly all 2-2-2’s, I think only one game had 3 dps).

I’m not saying you’re lying about thrower existing, I’m just saying throwers don’t make a majority of the games unlike you’re saying

That is correct, they make up 38%.

Yes, of course, it only happens to you too. Keep telling that to yourself and you will keep dropping.

Blame the game design, not the matchmaking.
